Nets are off to a perfect start. Empty Nets are off to a perfect start.

Post by wide clyde Sun Nov 01, 2015 12:43 pm

The Nets are off to the best possible start for the Celtics. Hopefully, they will stay on the same path that they have started the season on. And, maybe, they even fall apart a little bit more to end with maybe 8 or 10 total wins to guarantee the Cs the most ping pong balls next June.

The Cs cannot let these guys off the hook when they play them this year either. A perfect record against the Nets is almost mandatory for the very obvious reasons of helping the Cs get a better playoff spot and keeping the Nets at the bottom of all the standings. Two of these games come up later this month.

They are 0-3, so far.

Here is their schedule, through November.

Mon, Nov 2
vs Milwaukee

Wed, Nov 4
@ Atlanta

Fri, Nov 6
vs Los Angeles

Sat, Nov 7
@ Milwaukee

Wed, Nov 11
@ Houston

Fri, Nov 13
@ Sacramento

Sat, Nov 14
@ Golden State

Tue, Nov 17
vs Atlanta

Wed, Nov 18
@ Charlotte

Fri, Nov 20
@ Boston

Sun, Nov 22
vs Boston

Wed, Nov 25
@ Oklahoma City
8:00 PM

Sat, Nov 28
@ Cleveland

Sun, Nov 29
vs Detroit

5 home games and 9 road games.

The only games I give them any hope of winning are their home games vs Lakers and possibly their road game vs Charlotte (I have little confidence in the Hornets at this time).  Clyde's right, if we win both our games vs Brooklyn this month they will be lucky if they are 2-15 on 11/30.

is there a rim protecting beast in this years draft?

I would trade anyone on our roster for Gobert, imagine how further along in the rebuild we would be if we had him?

I saw the last Nets game.

The Nets's draft pick may continue to grow in value as the season goes on and the Nets find it difficult to add W's.

I do not think this upcoming draft is top heavy with bigs but there are some really good wing players available that would represent upgrades over what we have now.

Sooner or later we will find that all elusive big but not sure where.

How high could that pick be? Is it restricted?

Enjoyed watching Milwaukee score the last nine points to keep the Nets winless tonight.

We should make this a sticky!

too close for comfort.

Slightly related, there's a rumor Mike Conley might end up in Brooklyn next year because of his relationship with coach Hollins, but I doubt it happens.

You said the bucks are bad and you were right about that...and the Nets may even be worse. I also watched the game last night and was hoping for the Bucks to win.

I am in support of any team that plays the Nets this year.

Not only are the Bucks bad, but Detroit is playing great without Monroe. Some guys put up stats but don't actually make a team better. Other guys like Amir often make more of an actual impact than guys like Monroe.

I take it you really do not like Monroe much.  I think that Drummond now has free reign in the paint and is putting up ridiculous numbers.  There have been a lot of changes on Detroit so their improved play may be related to several factors.

I think I'll wait another 30-40 games before I past judgment on the Bucks. After 4 games, 3 0f last years top 8 rotation  players have played in a total of 1 game so far this year. Lets see how they play when they get Parker, Mayo and Henson back.

Detroit now has their version of Olynyk in Ilyasova. It's amazing how much floor spacing by a big can affect a team's overall performance.

Bucks don't have that

The Bucks are absolutely not a bad team - their slow start this year is because of injuries to Jabari Parker (expected back tomorrow), O.J. Mayo (also ready soon) and John Henson. That's two starters and a regular rotation player. Virtually all pre-season pics have them winning more or the same amount of ganes as us:
