He was the globetrotters, I along with 1,000's of others remember seeing him as a kid. He and Curly Neal put on quite a show.

It was water in the bucket that day, not shredded paper. And it took Neal about three tries before he made his 1/2 court hook shot.

They played the Garden twice a year, thanks to Red. First half of a doubleheader. Meadowlark was the consummate entertainer, keeping the kids laughing in the drowd. Many times you wondered why a guy like that couldn't have caught on with a team at some point.

It was always entertaining. The good old days when they sometimes played a doubleheader! Showing my age.

The other player who kept everyone guessing was Marques Haynes. Be could dribble like no one I ever saw

RIP Meadow Lark, you really were a great.

Used to see them every year here in Rochester, NY.  Meadowlark, Curly Neil and Geese Ausby were the Big 3 for them back in the late 60's early 70's when I was a kid.

They could seriously play, but more than that they could entertain.
