BRADLEY TOPS ALL GUARDS IN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF YEAR VOTING

ATLANTA -- Avery Bradley prides himself on being a talented two-way player, but his defense continues to stand out at an elite level.

That much was confirmed on Monday with Bradley finishing among the top vote-getters for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award, which was won by San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard for the second year in a row.

Bradley finished sixth for the award, but was tops among all guards in the NBA with a total of 12 votes (one second-place vote and 11 third-place votes).

Sadly, Bradley will not get an opportunity to showcase his defensive prowess anytime soon after suffering a strained right hamstring injury that has ruled him out for Game 2 and, most likely, the rest of Boston’s first round series against the Atlanta Hawks.

In addition to Bradley, Boston's Jae Crowder finished tied for 13th for the award after receiving one, third-place vote.
