Luke was my first choice to coach the Lakers, so I'm happy with this signing.
Hopefully some ping pong ball luck for my team on the left coast, then focus on the Draft.
I am pretty confident the Lakers have hit rock bottom and things will start getting better.

I am thinking Harrison Barnes will be one of the FA's the Lakers look hard at this off season now.

assuming they can't get Durant of course.

Barnes and DeRozen could be a nice pair of wings for the rebuild.

Nice signing by the Lakers and they only have one direction to go.

But, I really do not care if they ever win even one more game

It still has not ever happened. Walton was no part of the Laker's 17 win season, the Laker season was over before he was hired. Not one single loss occurred while he was a Laker employee. That will only be a thing if the Lakers only win 17 games next season. That's usually how these things work, season to season.

Good job by the Lakers after 3 HC hiring blunders.

Maybe Walton can try to model them after GSW?

Walton said he will not be running a triangle offense.
It will be an offense similar to the one GS uses.

I would think that undermines the never-ending rumor that Phil wants out of NY and back to LA.  If Walton flops then he and Jim Buss are toast.  Then, maybe.  If Walton shows promise and progress then Buss lives to fuck up another day OR Buss is still gone but if Phil comes back will he really try to ram the triangle down Walton's throat?

Bob,

You have to have the right players to be successful at the triangle.
The Lakers don't have a Pau, Shaq, Pippen, Jordan or Kobe.
They definitely will not be running a triangle offense.
Brad has tried to force a space and pace offense on a team that should not be playing that way.
Walton is not going to do that.

The Lakers aren't worrying about Phil Jackson.
Phil is employed for the Knicks.
Jeanie has said that as long as Jimmy and Mitch are there, there's no room for anyone else, including Phil.
If Jim and Mitch leave after this season, it's a virtual guarantee that Phil will run the Lakers.
Jeanie wants him closer to her.
