Isaiah Thomas isn't the only one starting his Kevin Durant recruiting pitch early. Legal Sea Foods is also trying to lure the former MVP to the Boston Celtics this summer.
That was a bizarre sentence to type, but Legal Sea Foods announced Wednesday that it will offer Durant unlimited free crab legs -- one of his favorite foods -- if he signs with the Celtics.
"When we heard that NBA free agent Kevin Durant's favorite food is crab legs, we knew it was time to take an active role in the Celtics' pursuit of 'Banner 18,'" the company announced. "The Washington, D.C. native has long expressed his affinity for decapod crustaceans – even collaborating with Nike on a signature KD VI Maryland Blue Crab sneaker in 2013 – and now we're trying to bait Durant to Boston with the promise of free crab legs. We think it's time KD makes Boston his next home.
"Available on ten of our menus throughout Massachusetts, we're offering Durant complimentary king crab legs anytime he visits one of those in-state restaurants while a member of the Boston Celtics team."
So Durant could stay with the Thunder, play with Russell Westbrook, make more money, and contend for championships. He could sign with the Golden State Warriors and threaten to break their regular-season wins record with them. He could sign with another team like San Antonio, which hasn't had a bad season in decades. Or he could play for Brad Stevens, dominate the Eastern Conference, become a Celtics legend, and eat free crab legs whenever he wants to.

Well that should do it!
Forget what I said about no way he leaves OKC. KD's coming for certain now!

This is a very slick idea, and I am sure that the Legal Seafood place has already benefited greatly (as they should). Lots of other businesses only wish that they had had this idea.

Durant is going to make 30 million a season, that is 365,000 per game. if he lives 55 more years (age 82) he'd have to eat $128 worth of crab legs per week FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE just to equal one game check.
I know it is a joke/publicity stunt, but if Legal Sea Foods really wants to see Durant in green they should offer to pay his income taxes. States without those, like Florida and Texas, always seem to do well in the free agency game.
