Report: Anderson Varejao will not accept championship ring from Cavs
Is Anderson Varejao guaranteed a championship ring?
Warriors forward Anderson Varejao became the first player in NBA finals history to play for both finalist in the same season, but does that mean he'll receive a championship ring even if the Cavaliers win the series?

Warriors center Anderson Varejao will not accept a championship ring from the Cleveland Cavaliers if offered one, reports Fox Sports’s Sam Amico.
Varejao played against the Cavaliers with the Warriors in last season’s NBA Finals, but began the season with Cleveland. The center played 31 games for the Cavs before he was traded, waived and then signed by Golden State.
Varejao played in Cleveland from 2004 until his departure in February. Originally a second-round pick of the Magic, Varejao played in 591 regular season games across 12 seasons with the Cavaliers.
In his career, Varejao has averaged 7.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
The Warriors re-signed Varejao to a one-year deal earlier this month.

MY NOTE: In a league of players who will join the teams that beat them and have the clearer path to a ring, which probably began with Ray Allen going to Miami in 2012, this is refreshing breath of fresh air.

To me it sounds like a guy who feels like his loyalty belonged to the Warriors who he played for in the finals - and didn't feel comfortable excepting a ring from the Cavs that had traded him away earlier in the year.

Re: The Anti-Durant
I don't get the energy conta KD. Players worked and sacrificed to be able to have the right to make these decisions for themselves via FA. KD is a free man, a free agent. I respect and support his right to decide his future. Lebron did something similar, which was his right, as was returning to Cleveland. The way he did it had no class. Not the same with KD, IMO.
Varejao is a different story. Class decision all the way, no doubt about it.
