I'm excited to have Celtics basketball back again and that means Comments from the Other Side are back also.   It was disappointing that the Celtics lost but,  I have no doubt that even 5 more minutes of the starters would have resulted in a win.  They looked like a finely oiled machine.   The reserves, who should be a strength for the Celtics, still need a bit of work.  But, I think the talent is there on the second unit.  They just need to  get their chemistry worked out.  As always, lots of fun comments from the Sixers fans.  Reading Sixers fans trash Noel,  I'm glad that Danny hasn't made any of the trades that have been rumored.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?  



I just want Embiid to posterize somebody on Boston. You know, to put the league on notice.

Pretty girl Kelly with his golden locks would suit me just fine. You know Marcus is "smart" enough to stay far away from Embeast after encounters in college courts.

I don't think I'll get over Simmons until he's almost back but watching Celtic's fans faces when they see Horford next to Embiid Should be funny

Olde Danny Boy has to be so pissed off at himself now for passing on The Homie Saric in 2014 draft. Not a very Smart decision

Celtics already look like they're in mid-season form. That's experience and seasoning for you. My note: This was early in the game, he was talking about the starters.

We’re playing probably a top 3 may be even top 2 veteran team in the East which has been playing together for a while and has added a great piece with Al Horford. It shouldn’t surprise anyone one that they’re gonna crush our guys who have almost no chemistry and experience together yet.

Man noel does love Boston, he just passed it right to them

Celtics are a tough match up for him specifically, strong and mobile bigs. He has to continue to use his size and leaping ability, had a nice oop and is going up for put backs now, that's how he has to live - not by posting up which is what he was doing.

Jae Crowder still the best player in the NBA that nobody talks about.

Noel is a defensive specialist who should not see more then 18-20 minutes a game

Celtics are a good team with players that have been together for a while now. We have talent but it will take time to gel and for the players to learn/trust each other. Can’t wait for those games when we do.

The Celtics added one guy—a mobile big with a high bbal IQ and good passing skills. And they’re the favorites for the division. And they match up really well with us.

All these recent Celtic draft picks are trash.

People that don't know basketball miss how good Marcus Smart is at basketball.

He's a player that you have to watch, but his offense is so ugly it's tough to keeping your eyes from diverting.

His Offense isn't ugly. His shot is ugly. That's the point. There's a lot of things happening on the court, besides jump shooting.

Brown has looked good, has shown flashes, seems to have a lot of potential.

Naw..... Crowder is really quite good.

I do not believe so, they're going to be competitive in the East and he's a major reason why. They'll only trade end of the bench/young guys which is why we haven't made a deal.

From the 2014 draft, the only thing more disappointing than Nik Stauskas, is James Young. God they are terrible.

This team can part with Nohands Noel. Holmes can easily replace him and doesn't cost $20+ million a yr....it's a no brainer.

Good thing it's only preseason Because if I didn’t know better, I would say that the Celtics have wasted a ton of draft picks on guys that are about to get cut, have a coach with an outsized reputation, and are the most overrated "shoe-in" for 2nd best team in the East that I’ve seen since…maybe the Pacers a couple of years back. We turned the ball over 22 times and didn’t play particularly well, and beat them on the road. But, hey that’s why preseason doesn’t matter, I guess.

I know it's preseason and doesn't matter But it’s always so good to beat the Celtics. How I missed it.

In fairness to the Cs their first team played pretty well. Their bench players on the other hand were atrocious. Both Smart and Rozier looked horrible on both ends outside of a few possession, and they have absolutely no front court depth. It’s only the first game of preseason, but they are really going to miss Evan Turner.

I think Rozier didn’t look horrible offensively, actually quite decent. Idc what people say about Smart’s defense being so great, he is so BAD offensively.

outside of one nice pass and pull up j out of the PnR I thought Rozier played pretty poorly, and defensively his shading was a mess. Rodriguez and TJ was spinning him around all night with some pretty simple dribble moves.

Avery Bradley looked really good. Their bench was lost though.
