Not the prettiest win, but a very important one
I would guess that no one on this board was totally pleased with the overall performance of the Cs in their first game, but it was a very important win in many ways.
First, it was a win and one step closer to winning 55 and at least finishing in second place in the East which gains a home court playoff series.
Second, it was a win over the Nets which, of course and hopefully, sets the tone for the Nets all year long and helps them settle into a terrible season long losing streak.Certainly, the Cs cannot give them any hope of winning in the first game of the season.
Third, it is the first of what needs to be a four game season sweep of the Nets. The Cs cannot afford not to sweep this team this season.
Fourth, it was a win that last year may have been a loss. Far too many losses last year to low level teams that need to turn into wins this year. Not sure how much Horford was really important last night, but I will give him some credit. Turning around ten or so such losses from last year will be a big step forward for our team.
Your thoughts.

Ditto!
The Celts lost too many games that they should have won!. Contenders find ways to win those games and last night's win may be a sign that the Celtics have reached another level.
The Celtics are no longer a W on the other team's schedule. The expectations are shared throughout the NBA. They are well respected so even the bad teams like the Nets will play their best because the Celtics are a good team now.
KO and Smart will be part of the rotation so some guys that are playing will drop closer to the end of the bench. It will take a while before a full integration has been achieved. That will best be reflected when we see some bench players in there with the starters as a normal course throughout the game.
I'm just happy the season has started and we have a lot of basketball to enjoy.
