Hoping for a Sixers win, but hoping for a Loss too.
Big night for the tank.
I've been in this boat for a while now. I want to see wins but deep down, I wanna see them lose so we can add another good/great player in the draft. We are so close to the end of season already so why not tank another year. Next year would be different. (MY NOTE: This must be a cut-and-paste from the last 3 years. This is the mentality of losers and abused people. "Next year will be different")
I never want to lose to Boston, regardless of the situation.
He did that by dumping all over Tyler Zeller though. It should be a lot harder to pull it off vs Amir Johnson and Horford.
Heres to hoping for plenty of Kelly Olynyk.
It's time to lose. Hopefully Jah makes a good last impression before the trade deadline.
No, I wanna win! **** the Celtics
Damn they are shooting lights out
Celtics can't miss. Still like what I'm seeing from the Sixers so far.
The Jah game...?
He should be well rested.
Cannot believe I have to watch Jahlil play defense again in our uniform. I had mentally moved on.
Boston has been on a roll. This could be a tough game.
C’s coming of a b2b at the end of a long road trip… should at least be competitive.
Ersan rushes everything and I’m convinced he misses just so can get the rebound and shoot again.
Good To See Ersan ensuring he won’t get overpaid with this stretch.
If Thomas is hitting 3’s. Oh no
Crowders hair is stupid
As long as Elfrid Payton exists, every haircut is acceptable by default compared to that abomination
Celts Are Gonna Make All Their 3s Again They say F*** regression to the mean in these Sixers matchups.
Celtics haven’t missed a jumper yet, and the refs are giving them every call. But we have fought nicely so far.
There is nothing this Celtics team could do to make me think they are good. If they win out I wouldn't think it. If they scored 250 points in a game, I wouldn't think it. I've seen em a million times this season it's it's just 'meh'
The Celtics are dreadful defensively, the Sixers should be able to score at will.
Knock Crowder's ass on the **** floor. You gotta treat pests like a pest. When they game is over I want em sore and bruised.
Jah looking gassed. Also no idea why he didn't follow Jerebko out to the 3 point line there - does he not know his opponent's skillset? (MY NOTE: and this is why players like Okafor are dinosaurs)
To be honest you should be giving Jah the ball everytime down with Kelly out there. Might as well be a guard on him.
Celtics are such a poor rebounding team.
**** the Celtics and their stupid 3's, they don't have one shooter who will retire above 37% from downtown career average, guarantee it.
Olynyk probably will. IT might also but he's hurt by having to create a lot of his own shots.
**** OIynyk. Oafy turd. People who look like that aren't allowed to shoot well over the long haul. It's just a rule of the universe.
Ersans green card to shoot at will needs to be taken away.
Can't tell you how badly I want an errant pass to smash Ainge right in his smug face at 100 mph.
Isaiah is such a whiner man. Holy ****.
Why would you play Smart so close? Back off of him a bit , no?
Tied at half is pretty solid for a game where we are 10 point underdogs on the road and they're shooting 62% from 3 (and we're shooting 27%).
Funny to see Marcus smart playing off the ball
Refs definitely not taking over this game
61 points for Philly. Great D!!!!!!
That ref hates Isaiah
I love how the Celtics took Zizic one pick before the Sixers got Luwawu. Danny Ainge's drafting skills are about as good as Bryan Colangelo's injury-hiding skills. (MY NOTE: We all have our blind spots and hatreds. Maybe he should remember Dario Saric and how Philly fans had to wait for him. Anything wrong with waiting for that pick, and he was #12. Philly traded for Noel and waited a year for him to be healthy. They drafted Embiid #3 and are still waiting for him to be more than part-time player)
Celts big men suck
They should trade the 2018 nets pick for Noel. But I hope they don’t because add him and Fultz and they will be scary good
That’s so effing ridiculous that they didn’t even get called for a foul that quarter. #90 was throwing elbows and #99 was bull rushing people. Sometimes it really bugs me how at the mercy of the refing that we are.
NN …best player on the court
Celtics can’t miss right now. Don’t think that they can sustain this for a whole game. Sixers need to just keep it close and wait for the Cs to have an eventual cold spell.
In no way do I ever want it to happen... But Nerlens would be pretty awesome on this Celtics team. No idea why Ainge hasn’t made a strong push to get him. (MY NOTE: Because he's an RFA this summer and he can bid on him and force the Sixers to match or do a sign-and-trade?)
Thomas needs to just shut up
Jae Crowder seems fake tough
Crowder is kind of a crybaby.
Boston announcers are so mad at their team. 12 turnovers. Philly with 15 more shots. Fast break points not close. Cov perfect from the field
We should be up by 10 just based on how both teams are playing. Bail out calls/no calls and them just hitting everything is the only reason it’s tied
I f***ing hate everyone on the Celtics. Can’t stand looking at their faces.
Kelly Olynyk is just the worst. Hated everything about him since he took Love out of the playoffs a few years ago
Celts sure can run up the points with no inside game at all.
Celts "just whinin’ and complainin’" in the words of Sir Charles Stop hunting for calls and play basketball, chumps.
Olynik Is the worst. Every opponent has to hate him, because he’s a flopper and dirty.
That Thomas on the Celtics is gonna be a great player when he grows up.
Grumpy Tommy Heinsohn needs to retire already.
Boston NBA and NHL announcers are tied with Pittsburgh NHL announcers for absolute worst, must watch on mute, announcers in the entire country. Its embarrassing for, but probably very telling of the make up of both cities
It’s telling all right. It tells you Bostonians are loyal to their own. Tommy Heinsohn is 82 years old. Hall of Fame player and coach. He can announce as long as he wants.
Tommy Heinsohn is 82 years old. Hall of Fame player and coach. I hope I can talk at that age.
Tiebreaker Goes to Boston for being the worst. Red Sox announcers are terrible, Pirates announcers pretty good.
I can't stand their fans in the crowd, they annoy me so much haha
Smug Boston fans are the absolute worst.
So many trash calls.
NBA loves some Celtics
All Boston needs to do to draw a foul is shout like a little bitch
Ersan and Smart should compete in the flopfest until they both foul out.
Lol Horford dragging Henderson around.
Boston game announcers are the most biased announcers I've heard with any team in the NBA.
Jah's trade value just went up, he grabbed a rebound! BC, it's time to pick up the phone quickly!
Is Smart the heaviest 6'3" player in NBA history?
Unless Boston makes a trade to improve their pathetic Interior defense, they're not going to do nothing come playoff time. I mean offensively they good, very good. But, giving up 61 to US....at the half in their arena is worrisome. I truly cannot believe Danny-Boy Ainge is not doing everything in his power to get better Rim protection and more Rebounding. Cause if not it will be the Celtics Doom.
My kingdom for a knee...Straight to Smart’s chest next time he slides into a flop.
Really don’t enjoy watching jah.
what? 8 foot jump shot air balls not your thing?
His game is pretty much universally hated here
Game has been pretty good considering it’s still close even with BOS getting a lot of FT love
Not hard to tell these refs are cheating for the C’s. I’m not sure I should be mad though. It’s probably the only way to stop this train.
8 against 5 most of the night
IT is the bomb
They oughta start reprimanding referees for making abhorrently bad calls like these
Why are they calling olynyk a 7-footer? He looks shorter than saric.
Thomas is awesome! What a fun dude to watch!
Thomas is above average at the game of basketball. I will cede no more
Okafor in for Noel....? Tryna tank this game I see
Horford throwing bows on purpose out there?
They just letting lil IT hack and foul Cov lol
Is it me, or does it seem like Marcus Smart always shoots out of his mind against us?
Celtics players and coaches talking to the refs like … "You know the fix is in right?"
Coach B definitely going for the W before the all star break playing Nerlens the whole 4th with 4 fouls.
If Boston were smart, they’d just do this:
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
IT drive to hoop, "foul"
I’ve noticed that’s the case with all of the so called superstars now. Half these cats wouldn’t be sh** if the refs swallowed their whistles some and let the players play
Crowder just slapped Cov right in the face off of that missed free throw. No foul, absolutely absurd when you consider what they’ve been calling against the Sixers.
What would you give Boston for IT?
I'm pretty sure we were supposed to get IT in that Boston-Milwaulkee-Phoenix-Philly deal but something happened
Some fouls Thomas gets are laughable
I know, a lot of them genuinely look like him jumping at the trees and getting phantom calls
Philly native living in Boston, I'm forced to watch this on local TV... And the homer announcers are UNBEARABLE!!! Tommy Heinsohn, you were a great player but the most biased color guy in the NBA. Mike Gorman simply refuses to disagree with him. Ever.
Wrong Johnny Most was the biggest homer. Lol (MY NOTE: TRUE!)
How does Smart torch us for 20?
I think next time someone posts that Marcus Smart sucks they must rewatch this game. Good defensive hands
Underrated and valuable defender can’t efficiently score
I would never trade Smart.
This has been one of the most frustrating games of the season. Can’t stand the Celtics. They’re outshooting us from 3 46% to 28% and we have still kept it close in their house. Really want this one.
Very weak flagrant.
I hate Marcus Smart!
Since when does Smart hit 3s?
He doesn't, he just happens to be playing the 76ers which offensively deficient players usually have career nights against.
James Young is my least favorite UK player of the Calipari Era and it's following to the league. Dude flops on a Nerlens screen and then tackles Covington into the bench.
Smart just tackled stauskas while he was on the floor
Marcus Smart is a pest.
Smart killing us.
Wow, Smart just mauled him until the ball came loose. Lol, reffing this game has been not good, to put it kindly.

LOL, not a foul, apparently. If they're not going to call it, then sure, do anything.
Wow, Smart is a dirty player, I love him.
Thomas is truly amazing, I think he enters the MVP conversation.
I can't stand Boston.
I hope Boston pays IT $30m.
Me too, 5'10 sgs don't win championships. An unfortunate lesson Sixers fans have learned
I hate the Celtics. The officiating is like Boston Garden circa 1980s. Thomas carries the ball more than AI ever did and pushes off to create space. The entire first quarter passed without the Celtics getting called for a single foul. So lopsided throughout. They play physical and get away with it, but you can't breathe on them, even the garbage players get respect. Fantastic!
So how long will it take to find out Covington's "head contusion" is actually a skull bruise and a frontal cortex tear?
Don't worry about the tear, its minor and doesn't require surgery.
At least theres no meniscus in his head
Bottom line is the Sixers guards can’t contain Isaiah. And the bigs can’t stop "fouling" him.
In all fairness, Isiah played below his average tonight. We were rather killed by Smart and Young.
33 is below his average?
33 on 19 shots with 4 turnovers and very few assists is below his average performance, yes. He has been playing at MVP level in the last month.
Well when Marcus Smart is banging 3’s on you what can you do?
Play better defense
Lol, Gerald Henderson gets pushed by Smart and then ejected from the game. This is like some WWF-type refereering here.
Another disappointing loss against the Celtics. Have we lost like 15 in a row to them? We can’t beat them.
it was an overall good showing for us. Things went south toward the end; they have really solid perimeter defense.
It’s tough to play against a 5-player + 3 ref team
What options do the Celtics have besides trading for Demarcus Cousins? If they don’t give everything up for him, there aren’t any 2017 free agent centers, and there aren’t any 2017 draft centers. They need to try go for it all, and the time is now. They don’t have the horses to compete.
Why wouldn’t they just pivot to Nerlens? He needs a new contract, no sh**. But he deserves it. We’ll match anything he’s offered, so they have to trade for him. Give us the f***ing 2017 Nets pick. Noel fits them perfectly. He’s from Boston. What am I missing here? "The logjam the logjam therefore we have no negotiation power."
You’re missing that Noel is not worth the 2017 Nets pick and I don’t think it’s particularly close.
F*** the Celtics. (get that out of the way first.) The Celtics can also sit tight and ride it out with the picks. They have a top 2 team in the East right now. Have young guys, Smart, Brown, Rozier, to complement the vets (Horford, Thomas, Bradley, Crowder), they have cap space to add a max or near max this summer, and they have two guaranteed lottery picks the next two years. Why should they overpay for anyone outside of a star? They can sit tight and remain a top 2 seed for the next 10 years.
The Celtics have accumulated a respectable quantity of draft picks but haven’t drafted a potential all-star with those picks, to the qualities of Embiid or Simmons (based on potential) at least; Marcus Smart is a good player, not great. As someone once eloquently put it, the Celtics GM has done a great job acquiring picks, but he’s done a rather shitty job acquiring special talent with those picks.
If Simmons and Embiid can play to their potential— and so far with Embiid, there’s reason to believe he can become a very very special player given his play thus far— in combination with Dario, future lottery picks including the Sixers 2017 pick, and free agents, that right there (imo) will put the Sixers above the Celtics. Perhaps a year or two of experience will be needed, but I’ll guarantee a Sixers Finals appearance before a Celtics. Promise that.
Both Brown and whoever they get in the upcoming draft will have star potential, the 2018 Nets pick is still a question mark. Boston is just starting to reap the benifits of the Nets trade so it’s difficult to say if they will make a big trade or not. I also really like Zizic, at just twenty he might be the best player in the Turkish league yet it’s hard to determine his ceiling. If Boston decided to go young also they could still get some big assets for Bradley/Crowder/IT.
They ve got Zizic incoming next year, 20year old C thats kicking buts in Turkish league and Euroleague (previously played in a same league as TLC and was dominating it).
Yes Thomas got a lot of whistles
but let’s not forget in the first half, when the one Celtic made a few dribbles, picked up the dribble, completed a spin move, and dribbled again for the wide open layup. I think it was Smart?
It was the type of play where it would be the only travel called in a 5th grade basketball game, because normally those youth refs hate to call travels on young kids, but it’s so obvious/unfair that it must be called. But alas, this is Philadelphia playing Boston, so the whistles were silent.
That paled in comparison to a few minutes later when Gerald Henderson dribbled the ball off the defender’s foot, directly out of bounds, and CELTICS get possession. And while they’re at it, no whistle for the hip check on Covington into the stands, which looked like a concussion. It was also a weak move to only call a Flagrant 1 on Horford when he obviously threw an elbow into Nerlens’s face.
Hopefully by some miracle this team slips to the 4 seed so LeBron can slaughter them a few weeks earlier than scheduled.
As much as I hate the Celts, I know what play you are talking about, and while he was spinning, one of the Sixers knocked the ball loose and Smart caught it in the air, so it wasn’t a travel. Looked like it in real time, but the replay showed him lose possession and then regain it.
IT He’s a terrific scorer, but he gets aided by the refs a lot. Half his drives are him looking to be bailed out by the refs or him committing an offensive foul by using his off arm to clear out the defender.
Yeah refs gonna ref. I can’t wait until we get Joel, Ben, and an elite guard to dominate the league. I give Thomas a lot of credit being the little dude that he is/how he modeled his game after A.I. but at the end of the day, I am not scared of a 5’9’’ guard who gets dumbass calls.
the Celts play really good perimeter defense
- Thomas is very good. We better get something good for the Lakers pick or the decision to pass on him in the MCW trade will not have been a good one
- Smart was really good tonite. It is highly unlikely that they would trade him for Jah
- Horford is not worth his contract
Marcus Smart I hate the guy and his flops are ridiculous, but he’s really grown into a very solid player the past few years. He’s fantastic on defense and is at least a passable shooter now. He’s making Avery Bradley very expendable. (Okafor for Bradley?)
Lakers lose hard to the Phoenix Freaking Suns probably not getting that pick this year.

it was an overall good showing for us.
