a core of Horford and Thomas going into next year would put a smile on my face. Adding a combo guard-forward of his caliber would make the Celts a prime time contender next year. He's got the credentials and then some.

3 time all nba
3 time all nba defensive team
Great outside shooter - So far this year 63% of his shots are coming from 16' on out - and check out his below shooting percentages.
16'<3p shooting .460
3p shooting .383
And he's locked up through 2018-19 for an average of 19 mil per year.
Does Danny have the chips to get Larry's ear. I think so. Go get him Danny!!!!

I'd much rather have George than Butler. I'd give up Crowder, Bradley and the 2018 Nets pick for him. Due to my Markell Fultz man crush the 2017 pick only goes with a top pick protected clause.

The Celtics do not really need either one of them. We are all set at SG and SF and PG

We need an elite PF. Why waste money on players that are nit really needed.

I wonder which players projected to be 1 of the top 4 picks in next Junes draft, will over the next 4 years compile numbers similar to those that George has posted ?

If Markell Fultz is they guy, he can come off the bench for IT and replace Roszir which could be a great upgrade and a safety valve for Danny if he cannot resign IT in the future.

As for Roszir he can create numerous options for us > trade for another position player in a packaged deal with other assets, future draft choices or can be released as the Celtics bite the bullet on him.

THAT BRINGS ME TO DANNY'S ENVIOUS POSITION

Danny is in position with all his draft picks and stashes in Europe OR HIS ABILITY TO TRADE ASSETS AND UPGRADE PERSONAL, to actually implement former GE's CEO , Jack Welch management technique STRATEGY of dropping the bottom 10 or 20 percent of Boston's roster each year, as part of an orderly continuous improvement of the teams personal.

As Welsh explains, we always get rid of the bottom 10 percent each year."part of a gold standard business management technique called SIX SIGMA started by Motorola.

In this way Danny could create pure cream though out the 15 man roster as he began the process 4 years earlier. Holding on to the #1 pick of Brooklyn is a key to this continues chain of improvement.

Danny has hinted to such a business strategy as when he said unless his team is truly improved with an ultimate superstar, he will continue to add talent through the draft while replacing the marginal 10%. Case in point was Hunter being dropped..............Young could be next as well as others while the Celtics surprise player in the DLeague could be added to the roster to see how he can added to the Celtics talent pool.

This story starts out with "It is crazy-rumor season in the NBA as we approach Thursday's trade deadline..."  So true.

According to this anonymous source, Paul George is about to become a Celtic.  Why are those sources always anonymous and why even repeat statements where you can't establish credibility?  Naturally, at the same time, named sources around the Pacers say they're making their first pick in this years draft available to try and acquire talent to complement George.  You might as well post an article that LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are all about to land in Boston.  If you tweet it, you'll get instant insider status and become an authority on the subject.

My son has been following trade deadline rumors and showed me one circulating last night that Jae Crowder had taken all Celtic related pictures off his various social media, obviously because he was about to depart.  It took him less than 30 seconds to disprove that one.  As we all know, the most reliable indicator, if IT tweets eyeball emojis at you, you're as good as a Celtic, so pack your bags.

It's always nice when the deadline passes and the focus is on the drive to the playoffs.

There are not many things that are more popular than good juicy rumors - We read - they write.

Boston Celtics trade rumors 2017: Paul George has told Indiana Pacers he wants to stay ... if they can win a title

Paul George wants to stay with the Indiana Pacers, but only if he can win a title with the team, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

Amick reported Wednesday afternoon that George recently sat down with team owner Herb Simon to deliver this message: He likes his place in Indiana and wants to stick with the Pacers, but only if the organization can put a championship-caliber club around him.

That piece of information helps clarify why the Pacers -- one-and-a-half seasons before George's contract expires -- have reportedly begun exploring the trade market for him, while also gauging what players they could acquire to surround the star with more talent. Because of George's contract situation, the Pacers still have time to determine the best option to proceed, but will have pressure with his message hanging over their heads.

George can hit free agency in the summer of 2018. If he makes an All-NBA team before then, the Pacers will be able to offer a mega contract that could convince him to stay even if they haven't put an elite roster around him. But whether he qualifies for that huge contract may not be known until shortly before he can hit free agency -- after the Pacers lose their final chance to trade him.

A number of reports have suggested George, who grew up in California, would be attracted by the possibility of joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Amick wrote that the Lakers are already trying to land George right now. Any suitor -- or the Pacers, if they keep him -- will need to sell him on the future.

According to the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach, the Boston Celtics have not held serious discussions about either of the two most obvious substantial blockbuster trade targets, George or Jimmy Butler:

Still, the Celtics are believed to be among the teams with interest in acquiring George. They have the assets to put together a strong offer if the Pacers, this week or some other time, decide to move him.

Around the time rumors about the star started to swirl, Isaiah Thomas caused a stir by tweeting an hourglass emoji, which happens to look like George's logo:

Maybe Thomas was having some fun with trade season. Maybe he was playing a board game with an hourglass and wanted everyone to know. He could have had any number of reasons to tweet that emoji.

Whatever, just know the George situation has gotten complicated for Indiana. The Pacers have time to navigate wisely, but look to be facing a franchise-altering decision.

MY NOTE:  This is similar to the ultimatum Pierce gave Danny.  Time frame is everything here.  If he is only giving Bird 1-2 years, until the end of his contract, that won't be enough.  Danny is circling...
