Celtics can have him if they want him. Which is doubtful.

Re: Goodbye Festus
depends on if he gets healthy.
his injury history is a very real thing. But I would think he could take Mickey spot on our roster next year.

Re: Goodbye Festus
Certainly worth a look at what should be a low price tag.
Too bad about his knee. He was looking like a good role player. Could board and was a big body/decent defender in the paint. He was OK scoring around the hoop, and, at least with a good outside shooting team when he was with GS, kept defenses in check as an inside option.
If he can maintain average mobility with good rehab, he'd be an improvement over a couple of our reserve bigs.

Re: Goodbye Festus
If Festus was a productive player, he probably would not be on Portland's roster next season.
Even without Festus contract on the books, Portland's team salary is $133m next season.
They also have (3) 1st round picks this June, which will add to their team salary.
I expect they will try to move Evan Turner or Allen Crabbe this summer to decrease their team salary some.

Re: Goodbye Festus
In 4 years Festus Ezeli has played a grand total of 170 games and, even then, only a total of 2394 minutes. By comparison, Kelly has played 1538 minutes this year.
His offense is almost non-existent. The only thing he does at the NBA level is block shots. In Brad's system we need our bigs to do more than that.
I vote no.

Knowing Brad, that's why I said it was doubtful.bobheckler wrote:In 4 years Festus Ezeli has played a grand total of 170 games and, even then, only a total of 2394 minutes. By comparison, Kelly has played 1538 minutes this year.

Re: Goodbye Festus
It may never happen, but if Ezeli could contribute just what he did pre-knee, I'd take him over Mickey and possibly Zeller. Especially given the likely price. I'd pay that just for the potential to realize an uptick in boards.
