This, from the LA Times after game 4.

A little early to panic, still.

If the Thunder manages to get a hold of a solid big man or two they will be really really good.
This year the Lakers should prevail without huge problems though.

The Lakers have already got huge problems - Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

If the Lakers continue to play at the kids tempo they are done. If they gain control of the tempo they will win in six. But so far each game slowly drop by drop the Thunder have created pace.

Jeb-
good talking to you last night buddy. (Although not as good as the night in Austin with the bachelorettes.)
I think LA will play a smart, disciplined game 5 at home. They better- if they keep jacking 3s, OKC will eat them up with easy transition hoops and we will see MASSIVE changes in LA over the summer after the Lakers get bounced in 6.
Some changes are overdue and coming no matter what happens this year, (Fisher, Farmar, the bench), but if the Lakers don't win a title, much less get booted by the Thunder, the changes are going to be wholesale and radical. Phil will be gone (and maybe the triangle with him), Bynum for Bosh becomes a real possibility, etc, etc.

it was a real treat to meet the members of the board I did. Friggin hoop bibles.
Maybe we can play it where a bunch of us get together to watch a finals game...
Bobheck said he thinks the Lakes need a sit your asses down you kids and shut up game...ten or more. I concur...again pace is key.

Pete- I absolutely agree with your priorities.
I don't want to get Jeb in unwarranted trouble, though, so I should clarify the bachelorette reference.
The short story is as follows:
I was in Austin for my buddy's 40th birthday blowout. We had about 80 people who had all flown in from LA, NY and Miami, and had taken over this one hotel, where we had 37 out of 40 of the rooms, including two huge suites that were attached together that we turned into one gigantic party room for late night partying (bars in Austin close at 2am).
Once we got back from the bars, we were up till 4 or 5am on Friday night drinking, etc, etc- just generally going strong all night and making a lot of noise. We wondered the next day who the people were in the three hotel rooms we didn't control. We didn't see anyone else, but we were just glad that the people in the other rooms were cool and didn't call to complain about us.
On Saturday, I started my day (afternoon) by having some kick ass chili and a bunch of margaritas with Jeb at some local joints he took me to, which was a great time talking hoops, politics, girls and life, and a great way to recover from the previous night. After Jeb dropped me off, Saturday night played out much the same as Friday, with a lot of hard partying, except that when we were back at the hotel drinking at around 2:30am, we found out who the people in the other three rooms were because they came in and joined our party.
It's an incredible sight when you have a few drinks in you to see a group of six or seven late 20s/ early 30s girls who are out on a bachelorette party weekend come streaming into your hotel suite looking to party. Truly a sight for the ages.
I start talking to one of them, a hot blonde.
Hot Blonde: I just want you to know that I'm married.
Me: No problem. We're just talking and having a drink, right ?
HB: Right.
2 or 3 drinks later.....
Hot Blonde: So, I'm actually not married anymore.
Me: How's that ?
HB: We're separated. I'm getting a divorce.
Me: What happened ?
HB: He cheated on me.
(As I'm handing her another drink.)
Me: Well what are we going to do about that ?
.........
Let's just say that I will always have a very fond view of Austin (and Jeb) as a result of that night, as it's his town, and he's the one that got the day going the right way.

bsky,
What a great time you guys had. Thanks for filling me in, that was a great read. Didn't mean to pry, however, I just couldn't let it go without hearing the details.
Good stuff.

The Thunder Dome is awesome. Loves the crazed fans. College atmosphere. It still comes donw to the one question the female announcer made...Can they win one on the road. Two more chances. I love seeing Phil sweat! Kobe looks tired. RA looks like he's about to jump in the crowd, start swinging and end his career. All signs LAL in exiting early. Oh where oh where is Greenkiller4937420 when you need him?
