Blake Griffin Opts Out
Not a surprise or anything, but it happened.
Doc shopped DeAndre Jordan at draft time. He couldn't shop Griffin because he doesn't have the leverage but my impression is that he'd rather lose Jordan than Griffin. Doc is trying to adapt to the new NBA, he's just a step or two (or three or four?) behind Danny.
I wouldn't be surprised if Griffin ends up in Boston. He was very impressed by the way we responded to Paul Pierce's finale here, and we're on the upswing, competing for the title in the east, while he knows that nobody is getting past GSW for a few years in the west and the Clippers under Doc have never gotten as far as Brad has taken us in the same number of years.

Griffin in Green - something to watch for and post about this summer.
He may help out in the rebounding department, but not so much in the rim protection department. It probably would result in a net gain.

Griffin may just be too fragile to invest $30M per season for four years. Too large of a gamble, in my opinion. It is very difficult for me to look at his injury history and not think that he will likely spend more games out of uniform than in uniform as he ages.

Re: Blake Griffin Opts Out
A big part of his injury history resulted from him throwing a punch. Doubt that will happen again.
