The Next Shoe(s) To Drop

Next steps for Celtics include pulling QO from Olynyk, renouncing all FAs, clearing out Mickey & Djax then trading ~$3-4m in salary out.

There will also probably be movement of Crowder and maybe Bradley hopefully, presumably, to get us some bigs.
Zizic replaces Zeller (keeping it int the Z's)
Theis replaces Jonas
Who will replace Amir and Kelly?
Stay tuned

You think Theis will play 1200 minutes or so this year?

I'm hoping for a chance to land the Magics Vucevic - good, young and inexpensive.

I think that if Theis plays 900 minutes we will all be very surprised even if he remains 100% healthy all season.
I say this even though I have never seen him play, but if he were good enough to play 1/3 of every game, he would have been in the states much before now.

Re: The Next Shoe(s) To Drop
The Celtics will now have to to trade one of these 3 to make the Hayward numbers work: Crowder, Smart or Bradley. Furthermore, I don't see how we can take any salary back, that would defeat the purpose, so it would be for a (yep, you guessed it) draft pick.

If I'm the Celtics, it's probably Bradley or Smart that I'm moving. You aren't going to be able to re-sign both and keep Isaiah next year.

Doubt the Celtics will move Crowder. Beyond value contract, he's still the piece that lets them play successful small-ball.

Re: The Next Shoe(s) To Drop
about $4.0M over once they renounce everyone left ( Jerebko, Kelly, Young & Green) . That's IF thy keep Yabusle here.

so yeah, Danny has to move someone.
you would think he'd try to bring back a lesser salary big man in any deal also.
maybe he could send Crowder and Mickey to Philly for Covington and Holmes?

Replacing Jonas on the roster and needing to replace his minutes are two different things entirely. Tatum and Ojeleye will replace everything Jerebko gave as a PF the last 2 years, but depth and a guy 13-15 on the roster is still needed and that's what Theis provides, and on that all important min 815k contract.

Can Tatum really play PF? Seems way too skinny...

I think Nader has to make this team now. The guy can just play the game. He'll be cheap. Anyone know if Yabba can sign a two way deal, and, if so, does that still release his cap hold?
