Anthony Randolph anyone?

Just another option to throw out there now that Bogut is off the market.
Randolph is a better fit for Brads' game for sure.
Wiki says his contract in Europe is for $1.8M ( not sure it;s 100% accurate). But vet minimum would be more.
anyhow... Zellers off the market, dammit.

He's an interesting option. Like Robinson, high upside prospect when he came into the NBA who busted. Sounds like he's developed his game in a way that translates better to the NBA.

Kyle,
He was drafted by the GSW in 2008 and everybody oohed and ahhed about his athleticism and versatility (in case you don't know it I live in the SF bay area). "Mad Scientist" Don Nelson, who loved players that forced other teams to scramble to match up with more than having players who could match up with others, thought he had a gem with Randolph. Five years in the NBA and he has been with 3 teams. He hasn't played in the NBA since 2014.
He isn't known as a defensive stopper. I'm still hoping we get some length to help Horford out on the baseline.

True. But it's the next best team and Randolph's recent basketball history was with it and the Slovenian national team.cowens/oldschool wrote:Real Madrid ain't the NBA

Dboss,
I agree the article about the Celtics was just that, Which is why I posted the second article (non Celtics specific).
Randolph certainly got under Porzingus' skin in the Euro championships the other day and has been playing well there. The time may be right for him to try a return to the NBA.

Re: Anthony Randolph anyone?
I would much rather have Bass than this Randolph guy even though Bass is older and shorter.
It may not be fair, and I may have a strong prejudice towards such guys, but I really have doubts about adding any guy who was a top pick bust and is now wishing/hoping to make an NBA comeback a bunch of years after having been drafted.
I am having a very difficult time finding any such guys who have been able to turn their careers around enough to actually make a solid contribution to an NBA team.

Hassan Whiteside immediately comes to mind. Top talent with issues who spent a few years in international ball, developed maturity, refined his game and came back as a star.

Kyle,
Good point on Whiteside, but he really does not change the chances much for me that Randolph will help the Cs like Whiteside has helped the Heat.
Hoping that this type of guy is going to help your team is still a very long, long shot.
