no help for the playoffs anyway...so whats the point.

The point may be to rest Rozier for the rest of the regular season. His ankle can use some down time. Now without Kyrie available at all for the playoffs, we will need Rozier to play heavy minutes.

We may see this tonight if my guess is correct.

Nothing against this Gibson guy, but KDP is 100% correct. Cs should play Bird and Allen if they want to rest Rozier.

During the 2016-17 season, the 33-year-old played in 17 games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 6.2 points. After he was placed on waivers by Dallas in December 2016, Gibson became a free agent and signed with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he’s been since September. Per the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, Gibson will not be eligible for the playoff roster and will replace Xavier Silas, who signed a 10-day contract with the C’s in March.

I am missing something.

The article above states that Gibson will not be eligible for the playoff roster.  What's the point in signing  him?

Also I think Terry should play out the string.  The Celtics need him to play as long as his ankle is okay.  

As the playoffs come front and center my biggest concern is the bigs and how well they play.

I don`t know how seriously Rozier is injured , but I see no reason to take chances. This team put up a valiant effort, but is going nowhere in the playoffs. Why not pick up Gibson? You need healthy guys for practice.
