Terry Rozier disccusses the chip on the Boston Celtics' shoulders

The Boston Celtics enter their playoff matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks with a chip on their shoulders. Terry Rozier says it’s been there all year.
The Boston Celtics have their doubters entering into a first round playoff matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. Skepticism isn’t unfounded.
Boston will be forced to navigate the postseason waters without Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart and Daniel Theis, leaving them undermanned to a nearly comical degree.
The state of the Celtics’ roster has left outside observers fairly questioning the team’s postseason chances. Boston is turning their uncertainty into motivation.
“There’s been a chip on the shoulder since [Gordon] Hayward went down,” Rozier told reporters after practice today. “You hear a lot of people doubting us from that point. We went on the 16-game winning streak and everybody hopped back on the bandwagon. That’s just how it goes. We understand that, but we have to come out with a chip.”
It’s not the first time one of Boston’s players has mentioned the team’s resilience in the wake of Hayward opening night injury and the rash of maladies that followed. Jaylen Brown highlighted it as a feather in the cap that is Brad Stevens’ Coach of the Year candidacy not long ago.
It’s a more than fair bit of praise. Stevens has done an incredible job keeping his team confident in its abilities, despite its evermore limited personnel. The Celtics legitimately believe they can beat anyone with any combination of available players. They’re carrying that attitude with them into the postseason.
“We’re not worried about what anybody else says,” Rozier said. “We’ve got each other. We still have to go out there and get in between the lines, and they still have to go through us. Our mindset is to win.”

Re: Terry Rozier disccusses the chip on the Boston Celtics' shoulders
These guys with the "chips" on their shoulders can well motivate themselves for important games and also for the duration of their careers.
Rozier seems to be one of those guys who is really making it work for him (and, his team) as his career unfolds before our eyes to the point that I am thinking that trading this guy could be a mistake.
With Irving's contract up at the end of next season, the Cs may want to keep Rozier in case Irving bolts to a new team.
