This is the replay rule on the block/charge. It can only be triggered to check if the defender was in the restricted area, to which then the officials can review the actual call, and in the final two minutes:

MY NOTE: It would appear that the call should not have been reversed, since he clearly was outside the restricted area. HOWEVER, it was also clearly a charge. LeBron was still sliding left. What a black eye for the refs.

What is truly unlikeable, to me, about JR Smith is that he likes to act all "thug-like" but he's actually a product of a middle-class family in the very nice county of Monmouth County, NJ. His hometown's population, according to the 2000 Census, was 2128 people and is less than 30 miles from the beach at Asbury Park. San Carlos, where I live, is one of the smallest cities in the bay area and our population is just under 30,000. He went to a prep school, for Pete's Sake. He's one of LeBron's Secret NBA Wine Society members, and you know they don't drink Thunderbird.

I watched that play over and over, LeBron definitely blocked Durant as far as I could tell. He moved right into him. But, it was a tough call to make at that point of the game.

Gotta give it to the King, he had one heck of a game. But when you surround yourself with a bunch of nothings, it is very hard to win. How much more can he do?

What it gives many people is some kind of reason to complain that a potential win by their team was stolen by the refs and that is a totally false narrative.

If you want to win a game, just play harder earlier and remove the possibility that any end of game calls by the refs will effect the outcome.

I would rather have a published ref SCORE after each game - with trackable running totals, and in each round - the rankings are published and refs assigned accordingly. A ref has a low score in terms of missed calls in round one, he/she gets an early vacation.

Every time I see Marc Davis, Tony Brothers or Scott Foster - I know they are going to miss a ton of calls, refuse to engage in any discussion with players and just generally be jerks. How those guys end up on top of the list of worst refs, year after year yet still call games in the finals is beyond me.

Money vs. Quality?  Money wins every time and the fans lose out.

Those three referees that you mentioned are the worst ref's on the floor during a game. Funny, I used to despise the way Joe Crawford took over a game and made it all about him.
These three are the same way. Tony Brothers has an awful record agains the Celtics.

If the NBA wants to clean up the game, retire those guys, it is obviouss they are over the hill
