Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue said the team was "thrown for a loop" after the Celtics choose not to play Semi Ojeleye in the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night.

The Cavs lost 96–83, and Boston now leads the series 3–2.

After the game, a reporter asked Lue if something was "out of whack" with his rotation.

Lue said the Celtics “threw (the Cavs) for a loop” by declining to play Ojeleye. He said that's why Korver didn’t play as many minutes.

Listen, I like Tyronn Lue...I do. But Semi Ojeleye, yes, SEMI OJELEYE should NEVER have an impact on your rotations and what you're looking to do. Stop.

I have to very much agree with Bob when he says that there is no good reason why Semi Ojeleye's playing time should have anything to do with whether the Cavs play their best three point shooter. Korver is a poor defender, but still?

But, if it means that Korver will only play a few minutes on Friday night, Ojeleye should get credit for great defense on Korver while they both sit on the bench.

As Bob insinuates, this is just bad coaching by Tyrone Lue and his staff.

I wouldn't mind, but Korver hit two three's in a row in the first half. All of a sudden they just stopped going to him and then he was out. JR Smith did nothing the whole game, Grande and Max kept asking why Korver was not in in the fourth. They needed offense, and by that point, LB was gassed.

Oh well, they must have had a good laugh in the Celtic locker room over that statement

Lue just may end up “getting thrown for a loop” out the door when this series is finished if he can’t handle Semi not playing his normal ten or so minutes.

Since when does any team game plan for Semi? Look I get it. Korver is a non defender except in game 4 where he gave Jaylen Brown fits

It appears the reason why he did this is because Semi is not an offensive threat and Korver would be able to focus almost exclusively on offense.

Still not a good reason to play him short minutes. He is the most dangerous 3 point shooter on that team. And perhaps more importantly the Celtics played with only 7 guys (Yabu and Nadar each play 3 garbage time minutes.

The worse thing that Ty Lue can do is to think. There is an admission by him (unstated) that he has no adjustments to Brad not playing Semi.

Perhaps one of the most absurd explanation I have ever heard from a coach.

Lue will compensate for that mistake by over playing Koever tonight.

If, by chance he loses, I will not be surprised if he is fired. The statements he makes are sometimes ridiculous. It can't be easy coaching James. It would probably be a blessing.

I’m guessing it would be a good thing for his health as well. He just doesn’t look healthy.
