Sluggish website?
I am experiencing very sluggish response times with this site today. Earlier, it didn't even connect, all I got was some number and circling dots.
I got the same thing when I tried to go the forumotion help page.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Here's what they have to say. It sounds like it is not totally solved yet:

Re: Sluggish website?
Fine for me at this time, I did not try this morning.
The poor website is bogged down from the weather just like we are, It is almost 100 here in Waltham!
Gyso, how is your weather. And Beat, you any cooler up there????
One heck of a summer I can say that, especially for those at the water, north or south of Boston.

Re: Sluggish website?
Rosalie,
We've had a break recently, right now it is 83. [edit: the rain just dropped the temperature to 72! I updated The Weather Channel and was totally surprised.]
It was also in the low 80's over the weekend. Usually it is in the mid to high 90's this time of the year. Right now we're getting a loud but short thunderstorm. The sun will be out in 10-15 minutes.
Even with the relatively low temps, it is still humid. We walk in the morning, between 6 and 7 am. It is not too bad starting out, but by the time we get to the end of the street and start to walk back, we can feel the oppressive humidity.
I actually worked outside this last weekend, shoveled three pickup truck loads of woodchips, did a little landscaping and cleaned up the back corner of our property. I drank a boatload of water and still lost about 5 pounds in the process. I felt lucky, I got to work outside here in August. Usually it is way too hot to do anything but ride the lawnmower around once a week.
Rather odd weather, you guys up north getting the heat and us folks down south getting a break from it.

No it’s hotter than Vinny Johnson. And I didn’t particularly care for him either.
So I did my morning and mid afternoon runs on the treadmill in front of the AC. I’ll venture out near sunset and run a couple miles then.
Good news.
Check on the scales
197.4.
Getting there but the pounds come off a lot harder now.

Re: Sluggish website?
Yes this is probably the hottest summer I can remember from even when I was a kid. The rain comes in deluges and then the humidity just sits there, it is a killer. I spend alot of time indoors, it is tough on us old folks you know!!! I go out early, come home and even hate to do housework. But, I am happy for all the people who spends tons of money to go away for the sun and beach. Those days are gone for me.
I was a sun worshiper until I got diagnosed with Lupus years ago.
Oh well, this too shall pass. I refuse to complain too much. Is BobH still away???? I wonder what kind of weather he encountered?

Congratulations Beat, you are right, it is harder to come off as we get older. Running will do that though.

Sounds like Houston from June through most of October. Low/mid 90s everyday, but close to 100% humidity. The rains never break the heat, just fully saturate the air. Late October through May here is really nice, but we pay in the summer.
What makes it bearable in the summer here is everyone/everywhere has AC. That wasn't the case growung up in New England (maybe it has changed). As a kid, I remember going to the movies on those hot summer days, just to get out of the heat. Sounds like you all are having one hell of a summer, but it should be winding down. Nothing can beat late August to mid-october in New England though - hang in thete a couple of more weeks.
