good deal for NO on a bargain price with a team option fro next year on the 22 YO big man, IMO.

since Davis and Cousins played together, there could be minutes for Okafor if he works out.

This is not too surprising that some NBA team was willing to give him another chance.  N.O. gets a big guy who may still find his way on the very cheap while not taking up much of their salary cap.  Low salary and low expectations situation even though he scored well as a rookie a couple of years ago.

Lots of folks have talked about him joining the Cs, but it is very obvious that Ainge had no interest probably due to his lack of successes at both Philly and the Nets.  Greg Monroe's failure to be able to get playing time in clutch games because of his poor defense may have also been a determining factor for Ainge.

Perhaps Okafor sees this as his last chance in the NBA and does something about his weaknesses to gain some success and a career that will be better than what he has shown so far.

I've seen some people compare Okafor to a young Monroe.

as you said, that means he has limited minutes in today's NBA.
