Back in the day, my Dad would take my mother to the hospital when she was in labor and then go back to work. He figured that the hospital and my Mom knew what to do. Eight out of eight times, he was right. Besides, there wasn't any free "we just had a baby" time for employees back then. There wasn't any "We" in the equation.

I was quick, I don't think he was even out of the building before I showed up on the scene. Some of the others were stubborn and took their time.

Of course when he went to the hospital 2-3 days later to get my Mom and the new baby and bring them home, he had to watch out for dinosaurs crossing the road.

My Dad too, Gyso My Dad drove a bread truck and left the at 3:00AM everyday. Somehow it seemed my Mom went into labor at just the right time for him to drop her off, do his deliveries and come home to a new baby. Of course, who knows what went on when my brother and I were born, after us, they waited ten years to have their "second" family of three more girls!My Dad used to tell everyone that first he raised the babysitters, then he raised the babies! Those were the "good old days", they never knew what they were having, no induced labor, surprises all around.

I call it babies raising babies, when I see these young ones today having kids. God bless them all, and much health and love to the new little one
