Al Horford has Patellar Tendonitis
For those of you who were wondering about Al's "sore knee", this is what it is.
I'm reading it takes a few weeks of rest and specific exercises to heal completely. Dr. Worcester may disagree. If so, expect more Time Lord.

Although I am not a doctor, (but did stay in a motel somewhere at one time or another), but I have had this knee cap issue. Not fun at all. Plenty of rest, etc, etc and it should/will get better.
Probably a good idea to let him fully recover for a while.

Re: Al Horford has Patellar Tendonitis
I had patella tendonitis as well. In 2005 I developed a 15 story condo, 187 steps to the top. For a year before the elevators were installed I climbed to the top 3-4 times a day which led to the patella tendonitis. Resting it for 6 weeks even without therapy should correct it. With therapy, particularly e-stim and acupuncture - quicker response. With PRP - 6 weeks, but then you have a stronger knee at the end.

I’m sure the medical staff is treating him fine and in a few weeks or so he’ll be good to go....in the meantime this gives more minutes to the rook, exciting time to see him get integrated more. Rook and Theis will have to man the position, guess it was meant to be, still can’t believe he fell to us at what 27...??? Too many GM’s must have been infatuated with small ball/3 ball.

Cow,
I don't know how much of it was "infatuation with small/3 ball", although I agree they are. I think, in the case of high draft picks especially, it's more that most GMs are thinking really short-term or really long-term. They want players who can start helping them next year (so they look good and get to keep their jobs) or for players that will stay with them (and under their contractual control) for a sizable chunk of their career, and so players who have any history of injuries get passed over. It happened with Jared Sullinger. He was going to be a top 5 pick after his freshman year and was supposed to be a top 10 pick after his sophomore year until he got medically red-flagged. Then he dropped to us at #21. He was out 1 year rehabbing from surgery and then was fine (his weight issues are unrelated to his back). Hinkie, to his credit, drafted Ben Simmons even though he was out his freshman year with his foot, Joel Embiid was also out his first year and he drafted Nerlens Noel even though he just broke his foot and missed his rookie year too. The Noel experiment fell apart because Noel thinks he's the second coming of Bill Russell and wants to get paid like he's a future HOFer when he's not even an All-Star but the other two picks are working out exceptionally well. Few GMs besides the departed-but-not-missed Sam Hinkie and Danny look past immediate benefits but not be so greedy that they are turned off by anything less than full control.
Then again not many GMs are as quick to pull the trigger as our Danny if he thinks he screwed up.

Yeah bob too many GM’s fucked up, they didn’t realize small ball/3 ball still needs the element of dirty work players like Draymond Green, Clint Capella, Tristian Thompson...etc. Just glad we got a dynamic freak athlete dirty work player to add to this roster, we are amazingly lucky. How many teams could he have helped? All their loss

Per Brad Stevens, Al Horford's exact diagnosis is (command-C, command-V) patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Hopefully Baynes can play tonight. Use the 3 headed Monster approach Theis 21, Baynes 15 and Williams 12. Foul trouble could alter things a bit.
