LATimes writer makes stabbing joke
The article has since been removed, but in Ted Green's "A Guide to Hating the Celtics", the writer takes a "stab" (pun intended) at Paul Pierce: "By the way, Pierce's idea of a fun night is going clubbing and getting stabbed. Good times!" I can't tell which is more egregious: the joke's poor taste, or its terribly embarrassing (failed) reach at humor. Honestly, I'm thinking the latter-- what happened to the Captain is no joke, and this pathetic attempt to make it a joke falls so far short of proper (read: funny) comedic phrasing that it almost makes you feel bad for the pathetic chap who wrote the article.
Anyway, I hope Boston writers don't have too much of a field day with this. I foresee a similar line in the Herald: "By the way, Kobe's idea of a fun night is rape. Good times!"
