Next Up - Heat @Celtics, Monday January 21, 2019 at 6 PM

They lost badly to the Heat 115-99. It was the first of 3 straight road losses that once again sent this team into a mini- tailspin.

I do not like the Miami Heat. The Celtics have every good reason to whip their butts tonight.

In the first game Whiteside had a below average game with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Al Horford had 2 points and 4 rebounds. This time around we should expect to see Baynes in there early and often.

The Heat play with a lot of wings. Winslow, Richardson, Johnson & Johnson, and D Wade collectively they killed Boston. We need Jaylen Brown to play well. He was horrible in the first as was our bench overall. Hayward led scoring off the bench and he was insignificant scoring only 6 points. Rozier gave us no help. Theis was another no-show. R Williams was the only rotation guy that did anything.

Teams only get so many chances. We will need a complete effort to set things right. When you let an inferior team have their way with you, it can embolden them to think they are the better team. They are not.

The last 3 games have seen the Celtics begin to play to the level of their competition as opposed to the prior games of playing below that level and getting beaten by teams we have no business losing to. While still not ideal, this is progress!

I'd like to see more growth tonight toward the penultimate goal of crushing everyone in sight regardless of their standing and invoking the fear of God in all opponents just cresting in time for the start of the playoffs! That's not too much to ask, is it?!

We have to be on from 3, analyze any way you want, this is this era, whoever is On from 3 usually wins....

I'm with you cowens/oldschool.  I'm getting tired of some no-name playing out-of-his-brain from 3-ville at our expense and us getting the L.  This is Game #47.  35 left.  Time to get this all figured out.  Watch out for Kyrie (given-"we're not losing another game until next season!") and Smart (flack from ATL) tonight having All-World games.  I'm just sayin'!!

P.S. Not looking ahead, (especially you, Celtics!!) but Golden State's on this week's horizon!

I’m really looking forward to GS too and think we match up defensively better with them than anyone else in the league....

If recent history is our friend, we should be up for that game!

This year we have surrendered a few too many career highs to guys that are not great.

I was surprised at the level of shade the Hawks announcers were throwing at Horford until down the stretch where he found the fortitude to rebound snd score. Wilkens was ripping him even more that I do.
