When LaVar Ball has an opinion, he’ll seemingly talk about it with anyone who has a camera. With the NBA trade deadline close and his son, Lonzo Ball of the Los Angeles Lakers, coming up in trade talks, he’s had lots and lots of opinions lately.

He’s trashed Lakers coach Luke Walton, saying he’s turned Lonzo into “a loser.” He said he didn’t want Lonzo going to the New Orleans Pelicans in an Anthony Davis trade, but instead he wanted him to be traded to the Phoenix Suns. And now he’s combined his criticism of Walton with a little sprinkle of LeBron James and come out with this extraordinary take, which he let loose during a visit to FS1’s “Undisputed.”

LaVar Ball believes that his son is so vital to the Lakers’ success that if they trade him, they will never win a championship. It doesn’t matter who else is on the team. Anthony Davis could be there. The entire NBA could go insane and the Lakers could somehow assemble the greatest lineup of all time. Jeanie Buss could unveil her secret time machine and go back and grab Dr. J, Michael Jordan, and Larry Bird in their respective primes. But without Lonzo? Still no ring!

LaVar’s position here is, of course, completely ridiculous. Especially since just days ago he was willing to see Lonzo traded to the Suns. But most of what LaVar Ball says into a camera walks the line between “confident trash talk” and “utter nonsense.” Considering he said that Lonzo is the lynchpin of the Lakers’ future success, you could argue that there is no longer a line between those two things for our friend LaVar Ball. That certainly seems to be the case here.

MY NOTE:  I posted this for comic relief.  Remember, this is the same ass clown who said he could have killed MJ in a one-on-one game.  Here he is, now, burning Lonzo's last remaining bridge to the Lakers.  Neither Jeannie, nor Magic, nor Rob Pelinka have to put up with this.  Lonzo isn't THAT hot a property.
