Yes, time is getting short and we need to get this done. I have to admit to having 1,000 distractions right now, so lets get everyone moving forward

3/8 seems like one good option, for price and availability, Even then, there is some weather risk, but that can't be totally eliminated.

It seems like a Saturday option is wise, and I think we need to stay away from pre-holiday dates, so either 1/11 or 2/1.

Rich's idea of a poll makes sense, so we can gauge actual interest and act quickly from there. We could post the two game options, along with ticket prices. Perhaps a third option for a Boston area sports pub with a room and big screen should be given. That would be least expensive overall, could easily offer Saturdays and be independent of home vs away.

I wonder if it would be simpler if we did something like the Nov 9 game, where we could try and get a room with a big screen(s) and do game, dinner and drinks all at one extended stop. Maybe we could get a more favorable reservation/room if we're dropping more at a single place.

Steve, I took the liberty of setting the new Game On! announcement free, so the Get-Together topic would stand out. I thought we can then tack the Game On announcement back to the top once this gets noticed.

We should do what we can to talk this up here and there so we can move quickly.

I kind of like the Nov 9 option. I'll be coming back from Washington DC, and I can always use a few drinks after DC (Not intended to be a political statement. OK, it sort of is. But I'm taking a swipe at all of 'em equally!)

Then post the itinerary of planned events > Boston Sports Hall of Fame, early dinner at Boston Beer works, THE GAME, game, and post game get together.

Post your above with the addition of number of tickets per poster.

Explain that we the board  will select the date with the most attending or the top two most attending dates.

Explain how we processed the last get together > listing Boston Celtic contact person and their direct phone number so a person can order form our designated seating chart their tickets without having to give away personal information to the board.

Seat location of our group etc.

All sounds good. When we come down to exact locations, times and dates, best we do it via PM. You might recall the time we all showed at the No Name to discover the reservation had been canceled by a troll who saw it on the board.

If you want to forward photos I'll get those posted, or you should feel free to post them directly. Looking at results after a few days, we need to give this a nudge. Since the poll is up and running, I'm going to consolidate this topic into the original.

Disappointed in the response to the get together to be honest.

At this point, group tickets are gone - so we should just focus on a dinner at a sports bar in Boston.

I can revise the announcement to say it's too late for group sales, and ask for responses for dinner in Boston and a televised game.

Even that Nov 9 date is getting tight when you consider travel arrangements need to be made and a barroom reserved. Still doable I think, but probably needs to be wrapped up within the next week. Weather becomes less of a factor when there's no game tickets, so even a January/February date does become possible. Travel could still be an issue, however, but the consequences aren't as costly.

Before I do so, anyone else care to weigh in with ideas?

We'll need to make sure all of us respond on that thread as well so we have a more accurate picture.

Upstairs at the Beer Works would be great. Just have to make sure they would have the game (and volume) on, and they would be willing to give us the room privately all night for a reasonable price.

Why don't we go right for that approach then? Those that can make it will.

When I get some time, hopefully later tonight, I can change the message to read that we're planning a gathering, looks like Nov 9 works for many, and ask for commits so we know how big a room. Updating it later will also give the rest of the day for anyone else here in this little group that wants to weigh in on the subject.

We can exchange exact details on location, etc., through PM off the main board, to protect privacy and avoid problems with Looney Tunes that might be lurking.

There are a couple of late March Friday home games. I think we eliminated one, vs Portland, due to high price. May have been low numbers of tickets available too, I don't recall. There is an early April Friday, vs the Magic. Online seat availability through Ticketmaster doesn't look promising.

Of the few (7) responses to the poll, 4 took November 9 for dinner and a televised away game.

I'll wait a little more, until tomorrow, to see if anyone else wants to discuss this further. I think the low number of responses shows it's best to just pick a date and run with it. I'm still good with November 9 if there are no strong objections. That weekend has the added advantage of being Veterans Day weekend.

I revised the announcement and posted that the party will be Nov 9 in Boston.

I included a response poll and gave an RSVP date of Wednesday, the 16th.

We can figure to proceed or not from there.
