Post Game Thread - Spurs
I guess nobody got the bad taste out of their mouth enough to start this, so I will. I'll keep it short, so as not to suck all the air out of it.
Nobody was going to stop LaMarcus Aldridge last night. When he's hitting those elbow extended fallaways he is unstoppable. Horford might have done something, he's long, but Aldridge outweighs him by 30# or so.
DeRozan had 16, Patty Mills had 12. No other Spur with double digits. Pop rode the hot hand all night and that was it.
Kyrie was upset but he was also 5-17. He had 12 assists, so that's good, but his scoring hurt us.
Brown 1-8, 7 points. His Charlotte game was a tease. So was Rozier's. In fact, the part of the bench that never plays looked better than those that do.
We shot 40%. They shot 51%.
Hayward 4-8 in the first half, 0-3 in the 2nd for 4-11. He did have 10 rebounds.
The Spurs did a good job of getting out in front early. Our legs started to go in the middle of the 3rd quarter and it was downhill from there.

I guess you know it was ugly when the highlight of the game was cheering for Greg Monroe as he got points in garbage time.
I hope the long injury list is recovering.

I'm going to sit out like the Celtics are doing until the playoffs start.

I think I heard one of the announcers mention that this was the worse home loss for the Celtics all year.
The Celtics played the game with a mismatch lineup and mismatch rotations. There was no continuity in play.
Once again this game highlights what happens when a 3 point dependent team shoots 7-35 or 20% in a game. It also highlights the fact that we do not have an outstanding big man on this team.
I know, I know Al did not play but considering the fact that Aldridge dropped 32 on big Al along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the first meeting Al likely does not change the outcome.
That's 4 straight losses in this final stretch of games and there are few good things to point to.
But here is one. It was good to see Gordon Hayward back and overall he looked pretty good. It was also good that Aron Baynes returned. Having a healthy roster going into the playoffs is a must. I think they still have a chance to secure a first round homecourt advantage but losing these past 4 games gives me great pause that they are capable of moving up one notch.
I think Boston can win a first round series if they have homecourt but I am afraid that if they have to win on the road, even against a team without their best player (Olidipo) they will come up short.
I do not know what could possibly change between now and the playoffs that will improve our chances. I am not one who believes this team has only to turn on a switch and all will be forgiven. Bad habits during the season become bad habits during the playoffs,
This team is who they are and who they have been all year.
It has been rather depressing to see what has unfolded but now I have pretty much resigned myself to expect this team to lose. It is easier that way for me and more realistic.

Kyrie could get laryngitis.

Well that would eliminate those post game interviews.
