Has Doc Outcoached Phil? Empty Has Doc Outcoached Phil?

Interesting topic on Globe 10.0 today.

Bob Ryan contends that Doc has a much better bench and with Bynum's injury being the X factor, Phil Jackson deserves a pass.

I contend that the only reason Doc's bench is better, is he knows how to utilize them - and has played them enough that they have become a cohesive unit. Phil Jackson has ALWAYS been a guy with a short bench that rode his starters to the finish line, for better or worse. I think Doc Rivers is eating his lunch and feeding it to him in this series....and I also dont see how Doc can coach this well, bring home #18 and then retire.

Thoughts?

It comes down to who wins. Doc is whipping him good to this point but you got to close the deal. I think Doc is under Phils dainty skin and I like that.

Doc has certainly operated with more class than Phil. Unlike Phil he has never publicly made any derogatory comments about the Lakers of their players. Dignified and knowledgeable with a good sense of humor - that is Doc.
