Report: DeAndre Jordan to join Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn
https://sports.yahoo.com/deandre-jordan-nets-kevin-durant-kyrie-irving-210820448.html
The Brooklyn Nets were already one of the big winners of NBA free agency with the reported additions of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Then the team added another star.
Veteran center DeAndre Jordan will join the Nets in free agency, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Terms of the deal have not been reported.
Jordan just finished up a season split between the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks in which he averaged 11.0 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He’ll figure to give the Nets another imposing presence in the paint alongside Jarrett Allen.
My comment: How much cap space does Brooklyn have? Perhaps one of the three (Irving?) must be acquired via sign-and-trade and the other two can fit into available cap space.

So far, we have Durant and Irving signing with the Nets, with Jordan joining them. We also have:
Brogdon leaving the Bucks for the Pacers, Middleton and Lopez both re-sign with the Bucks.
Ariza joining the Kings *Shrugs*
Porzingis signing a max deal with the Mavs (I hope they don't regret it )
Butler talking to the Heat
Lilard and the Blazers finalizing a supermax extension
Rozier to the Hornets
and more . . . stay tuned.

Nets are gambling big.
There is no in between for them. Title contention or bust again.
They're hanging their hat on a wounded super-star player, who can't play for a year, and there's no telling if he returns to form. A top scorer with a suspect attitude, and a bona-fide big man who is starting to pile up the mileage.
This is the kind of talent that, at their best, could form a core and propel a team to the finals. They're young enough, still, but there might not be a star trio with more question marks attached.
As a Celtic fan, it could be funny to watch the implosion that might take place. On the other hand, it could be enough to put the Nets ahead of the Celtics in another year, contending for a title before Boston can build back to that level. That would be handing Boston a payback for all the stories about how the Celtics fleeced the Nets, leaving them in the dust in what looked like a steal.
I'll just hope for Kyrie to go all Flat-Earth, and trigger the implosion.
Stay tuned for a while. It will be a couple of seasons for this story to unfold.

Between Jordan and Durant -they have more miles on them than Stormy Daniels. My bet is they destroy the chemistry they established with their hard nose, blue collar team and end up in the same seeding position as this year.

More miles than Stormy Daniels.
That's some high mileage!
Today's early leader for quote of the day (even if he posted it last night).

Jordan is still a double, double center despite the mileage. I think the cost is around $10 million per which is very reasonable. Both Durant and Irving took less to help make that happen.

Perhaps the Nets signing Jordan will save them from having to expect Irving to be their team leader. Jordan, if he can lead, should be able to get everyone in line and working together.
His biggest challenge will be to get Irving to be consistent with his efforts and also to control his mouth. If Jordan fails in his ability to control Irving the Nets will undoubtedly run into the same issues the Cs did. Leopards don't often change their spots in the NBA.

Durant will never be close to the player he was before the injury. Good luck to the Nets, I think they just destroyed their chemistry.
