Is this going to work out?
Antonio Brown agrees to deal with Patriots hours after split with Raiders
I know that this is a basketball forum, but WOW, just WOW!?!
I was half wishing "No way the Pats sign him." and half wondering "What if the Pats sign him?".
Will this end well?

The All-Pro wide receiver has agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The news comes only a few hours after the Raiders honored Brown’s request to be released.

If Antonio Brown still wants to play football, the Patriots (of course) will reap the rewards
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/if-antonio-brown-still-wants-to-play-football-the-patriots-of-course-will-reap-the-rewards-221608363.html
Brown’s deal is for a single year, $15 million, a figure that includes a $9 million signing bonus, per ESPN. Unlike Oakland, who had to give up a third-round and a fifth-round pick, the Patriots are on the hook for nothing more than that.
If he flames out, he flames out. This is what the Patriots do. They took Josh Gordon a year ago as he battled substance abuse issues and got most of a regular season out of him. When he relapsed, they didn't skip a beat and won the Super Bowl. (Gordon is back this season, too, presenting a potential nightmare for defensive coordinators.)
If Brown plays well but winds up signing elsewhere after the 2019 season, the Patriots will get a compensatory pick, likely a third-rounder.
So just like that, the Patriots score big on the eve of a season as they seek a fourth Super Bowl title in six years and a record seventh overall, which would break a tie with ... Pittsburgh, of course.
For the rest, pick on the link (above)

The track record for this type of acquisition has been good. If he fu, he's gone but if he buys into the Patriot way then this makes them a most dangerous team. I am sure there are escape clauses in the contract.
Once again NE pushes the envelope and dares you to 2nd guess them.
Was talking about them getting him literally minutes before it was announced.
Go Pats!

Even if he screws up and gets cut, he makes 9 million guaranteed. What a world. One hour after he got cut he was a Patriot. Think his agent was the first to contact them??? And they were worried about the Patriots receivers? Imagine if Gronk was still around, This is a win win, if even for only one year

Absolutely insane. Become the biggest pain in the backside the league has seen in a long time and get rewarded for it. Just wrong on so many fronts.
Of course, Belichick will take crap and turn it into gold. Hoodie always does. And Brady really needed a deep threat wideout besides Gordon. I don't think it works for more than a season, but that might be all that's needed out of Brown to chase down another title.
The real winners were the Steelers when they dealt Brown to the Raiders for a 3rd and 5th round pick. Fleeced the Raiders there. Sure they run the risk of having to deal with Brown in the playoffs now, but it was well worth it to them.
Go Bills!

NY,
I agree that rewarding these kind of antics damages the league.
I read that the Steelers also had to eat $21M of his contract to get the tRaiders to accept the trade. Perhaps not so much of a fleecing, but the company line is that they did what was best for the team.
