Pritchard Should Replace Ainge!
The Portland owner must be bonkers getting rid of Pritchard. With all the smart deals and drafts he's made to build the Blazers, were it not for being snake bit by the injury bug, they WOULD have kept the Lakers from the Finals. Blazers and OKC are the west up & Comers! Pritchard doesn't need to lean on his buddies for blockbuster trades like Ainge leaned on McHale for Garnett 3 years ago. Pritchard could remake the Celts who probably will miss the playoffs next year unless drastic measures are taken. Younger faster with more length to capitalize on Rondo's strengths is the direction needed for Boston. Pritchard is creative enough to get the Celts back in contention. Ainge is not. The draft is proof enough. Everyone ellse seems to be getting better. The C's are just aging, and not like fine wine. 'Sheed is retiring, and didn't commit to physical conditioning his brief stay at Boston. Tony Allen is likely gone out west. Shelden and Robinson's status for next year are in doubt. Not only is the window closed, but the house itself is windowless! Ainge as a coach if Doc leaves, maybe. I'd rather get Larry Brown, or Kevin McHale!

MDCeltsfan,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same conclusion you've come to every year since the summer of 2008, after we "traded away our youth" in Jefferson etc to get KG and Ray Allen? Isn't this the same opinion you've held about Doc and Danny going back even before they won the championship in 2008?
This is not a new revelation for you, is it?

Re: Pritchard Should Replace Ainge!
Let's just give it a break, MD, Danny has more than earned his money here in Boston. As far as Doc is concerned, it sounds to me like he almost was running a daycare center sometimes during this season. They are the right people for this team at this time. Let's stop all this silly talk about replacing them!

When they are, and they do, then we can talk about it. Until then they're just another buncha young wannabes and young wannabes usually don't win championships. They do make noise though.
Personally, I thought Pritchard should have been fired last year, when he made a decision not to even try to pursue Odom. Now, the chances were that Odom was either going to be with LA or Miami, but Portland was one of the few teams that could have afforded him and Pritchard decided not to even try.
IMO, that was Dumb with a capital "D". Odom is one of, if not the, best 6th men in the league and could start on any team that doesn't have Gasol, KG and maybe Bosh on it. Furthermore stealing Odom away from LA takes away LA's depth at 4/5 and makes their frontcourt bench even weaker and thinner than it already was. He could have, in one fell swoop, built up his team AND hurt his #1 conference rival. Instead, he wasted his effort looking into Turkoglu and David Lee and ended up getting 35-year old Marcus Camby. Signing either of those players would not have made the impact on their playoff run that signing Odom would have and Camby, at his age, is basically a rental.
What he has now is a team with now 36-year old Marcus Camby as their veteran leader and that isn't gonna cut it.
Pritchard should have been fired LAST year, not this one.
