Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
This video was found by one of our members, NESsportsfan. It is a video by a Boston native that does You Tube video pizza reviews. This guy hits Ray hard, and I have to say that I am impressed that he took the heat. Watch the whole video as there are additional questions after they eat the pizza. You never know where you are going to get interviews these days..

Great find, thanks for posting. Always liked Ray, never felt the betrayal many Boston fans felt when he left.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
Ray was my favorite, everyone here who was on when he was he will verify that. Things did not quite go down the way Ray is portraying them. But..........enough is enough. He was a great player while he was here, and was really responsible for hitting the most important shots of the championship team. Time to bury whatever hatchet. The big three should be back on the same page, this has reached foolishness proportions.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
MY OWN opinion...
Ray is total class. Always was.
This guy doing the interview is part of the low class reaction to a man that helped bring his city a title. Damned ingrate. I'd have shoved the pizza in his face.
Nothing Ray did was wrong, and the way he left was his business. Fans, and teammates who objected, were way off base.
The whole over-reaction was the only time in my life I was embarrassed to be a Celtic fan. If I put it in terms I'm really thinking, I'd probably piss off half of the city of Boston. I'll stop here.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
Ny,
I have a different take on this. I believe it was prearranged with Ray so he could tell his side of the story. Boston fans expect players to be loyal as they were with the late 80s Celtics. Funny though many of us say it is business when a player gets traded.
I thought it was a great opportunity for Ray to tell his side and remind us of how classy he is. If it wasn't he would have walked away.

I'm with you NYCelt. Ray ain't Kyrie. Danny was ready to move on, otherwise, there is no way management didn't know what number was acceptable fir them and that would have kept Ray in Boston. They chose to offer less. That is fine. That is not only their prerogative, it is their job. On the other hand, Ray didn't have to accept it. Obviously Ray felt a little disrespected, and chose to go elsewhere. Maybe Danny anticipated this and was pleased, maybe not. Really bumps me out that Ray is somehow in the same class as Kyrie.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
I respect what Ray did for the team and his contributions to the 2008 banner are not in dispute, but I disagree with NY Celt here.
Ray took half the money to go to Miami, the Celtics #1 rival. That is not some innocent decision. And while he has the right to do what he likes, we have the right to see it as a slight and knock him down a few notches on the ultimate Celtics list.
He was a difficult, self centered teammate - He fought with Rondo, he often avoided hanging out with his teammates, he had a souring relationship with Doc. Those were all generally his choice - so the "Oh, poor me" act in this interview is disingenuous at best
For me the worst part was A) He didnt bother to talk to his teammates before leaving and B) he gave up on the team, and basically said so in this interview.
He described the year that Perk tore up his knee and the Celtics lost in game 7 - as a team that was "...not good enough." Really? Thats some bullshit right there.
If I saw Ray Allen walking down the street, I would thank him for the 2008 championship. But if I had a chance to speak to any of the starting 5 that year, he would be last on my list.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
Bottom line Ray felt disrespected, but the way he didn’t return teammates calls before signing with our biggest rival during process really pissed off his teammates and most loyal fans. KG and Pierce were all about the franchise, Ray left for his own reasons, him going to Heat tipped the scales to Heat that year, no way they win it all without Ray. I’m with KG on this one....that team deserved to be a multiple championship team.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
Frankly, this is getting old, period. He is keeping it alive himself because he felt the way he did. It is what it is. He moved on, so didn’t the Celtics. Why I have to see him on show after show talking about the Celtics and how bad he feels they treated him is beyond me. Get over it. This is a tired subject.

Re: Ray Allen Responds to Tough Questions
Ray Allen , in my opinion, caused the problem with Rondo, not vice versa. Ray was upset at Rondo because he was mentioned in trade rumors with RR. How is that Rajon's fault ? The more Ray shoots his mouth off , the less I like him. He seems intent on airing his grievances. His contention that Rondo looked him off when he had open shots is , in a word, preposterous.Rondo was , whatever his faults , a competitor. Doc Rivers wouldn't have stood for Rondo deliberately sabotaging the team. Maybe Rondo passed up Allen because he was horrible in the playoffs his last season as a Celtic. He shot .395 from the field, .304 from three and .711 from the line. Maybe , like Irving, his mind was elsewhere. In any event , the other guys are not required to embrace him, just as he was not required to remain a Celtic.
