Re: We Are Approaching The Start Of Trade Season
I think most would agree with a yes on Collins.
but its hard to see a deal that makes sense for Atlanta to me.
Rob Williams and Langford with 2 or 3 first rounders is the best I can do , since Ainge has said none of his top players are available for trade. Atlanta is about $2.6M under the cap right now it seems, so with that space and Collins salary they can take back about $5.3M in salary's (which is what Rob and Langfords salarys combine to.
I doubt that would be enough, but if they'd take it I would give up the Memphis pick and the Bucks pick along with out pick in a future draft for Collins.

Collins is a really good young player. I do not see the Hawks trading him.
I would trade any of our rookies for him. I would probably part with a draft pick as well since the draft does not pop off the page for getting a center.
I wonder if there is something else going on behind the scenes that we do not know about.
If ATL is looking for a center we do not have one that they want.

NBA rumors: Warriors 'listening to pitches' for D'Angelo Russell trade
Ali Thanawalla
NBC Sports BayArea

Will the Warriors hold on to guard D'Angelo Russell or will they deal him before Thursday's NBA trade deadline?
Until the deadline comes and goes, there will be plenty of rumors.
The latest comes from The New York Times' Marc Stein, who reported Sunday night, citing sources, that the Warriors are "listening to pitches" for Russell.

Many thought the Warriors would wait until draft time to seriously ponder moving D'Angelo Russell, but sources say they are listening to pitches -- with no secret Minnesota wants D-Lo badly. Golden State is widely expected to trade Alec Burks and/or Glenn Robinson III this week

9:01 PM - Feb 2, 2020
Stein's reporting comes on the heels of league sources telling NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole last week that the Warriors will trade Russell, just not before Thursday's deadline.
"It's possible, but I think they're smart enough to wait until summer to get serious," one league source told NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday.
"Doubt it," said another. "The only way it happens is if the Warriors get nervous and accelerate their plan. The old Warriors might have done that. I don't see these guys doing that?"
The Warriors would be wise to wait until the offseason to trade Russell so they can see where their first-round draft pick lands. If it is a top-3 pick, they can try to package Russell and the pick for a better return.
Plus, removing Russell from the current rotation would leave the Warriors without a true No. 1 scoring option, unless they get an established player in return.
Of course, if a team overwhelms the Warriors between now and Thursday, they would have to listen and possible consider accepting the trade.
We'll find in four days which way the Warriors go.
bob
MY NOTE: The Trade Deadline is this Thursday, 2/6, @ 3pm EST. My money says the Celtics do nothing, but they might be facilitators in multi-team trades. Danny loves, and has a sizable track record of, providing the extra grease needed to make a trade happen and take draft picks in payment.

Just posted: League sources say Celtics looking to support their core as trade deadline approaches... A veteran to shore up the rotation more likely than a big
bob
MY NOTE: "support their core" is the key phrase there. What that means to me is no Kemba, Js (either), Hayward, Smart. If no big is coming in then no big is leaving due to our ongoing rash of injuries and that they all have specialities and strengths, but also weaknesses, and if we trade one without getting a more comprehensive big in return (or one that does the same stuff as the one that's gone, but then why trade?). I'm thinking Romeo and/or Carsen. They're young and neither have shown irresistible talent, yet. I think Grant has shown enough that he's almost considered 'core', I think the incoming player would have to be pretty compelling for Danny to trade Grant. In addition to finally putting together a couple of good games he's an excellent locker room guy and I'll bet Danny is as gunshy of upsetting chemistry as he ever has been in his life. Semi? Maybe, he could be packaged. A bit redundant with Grant.
I think Carsen is the most likely since he can't seem to get out of Maine. He defended Trae Young last night. Tremont and Carsen were the best to defend a small guard like Young, but I wasn't impressed with Carsen's defense. He kept letting his man get past him. If he was shooting like he was in the pre-season, or even like he was in Maine, things would be different. Tremont played his pesky defense and was able to tie up a jump ball by stripping Young and going to the floor for it. Brad and Danny love that (who doesn't?).

Re: We Are Approaching The Start Of Trade Season
Danny will not make a deal just to make a deal.
We are starting to see the positive impact of our bench. They have been given more opportunities and it would be hard to overlook what they have accomplished.
I believe the return of a healthy RW may very well keep Danny from doing anything.
I think we have a really good team. They can beat any team but the playoffs is a different animal. You have to play well over multiple games.
We need to stay healthy.
No one should be surprise if Danny does not make a move. He has done a great job building this team but he will not do anything rash.

Re: We Are Approaching The Start Of Trade Season
Interesting trade for MIA and Iggy. Trying to get in Pat Riley's head. Only thing I can think of is he sees us or TOR in the 2nd Round of Playoffs. Do we have anyone on our team with Finals experience, much less Championship experience since we ditched Kyrie?
Same can be said of MIA. Who do they have that's been there? TOR's got a ring. Maybe Pat picked up Iggy for the locker room and getting MIA's head on straight for the playoff run given the lack of deep playoff experience. Of course everyone is going to run into the Terminator via MIL. Other than that picking up that big ass contract for someone that has been on the sidelines for a while makes you wonder. I'm probably missing something.

well, they gave Iggy a two year extention (second year non guaranteed), so they see him being there this year and next I suppose.
reportedly gave up Winslow in the deal , not sure if anything else. If Winslow can stay healthy we mat be a good fit with Memphis in the next few years.

Adrian Wojnarowski: With a team-option for the 2021-22 season, Iguodala is allowing the Heat to keep salary cap flexibility for free agency, league sources tell ESPN. If Miami misses on recruiting a max star, the plan would be for Miami to guarantee that season’s $15M, per sources.

Keith Pompey: #NotBadFlow. The #Sixers are acquiring Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III from #GoldenStateWarriors for three second-round picks. Dallas 2020 second Denver 2021 second Toronto 2022 second
7 hours ago – via Twitter YoggiMane
Yossi Gozlan: After trading Burks and GRIII, Warriors just $488,031 below the tax with just 11 players on the roster. They’ll need to move off Looney or swap Russell for someone cheaper if they’re going to finish the season under the tax.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF GS wants to dump Looney, Ainge may want to take a look.
Looney is a big who makes around $4.4M this year and $4.6M next season.
I would offer Poirier and Milwaukee's first next year for him, since GS is collectiing draft picks now and wants to get under the tax line.
works ion the EPSN trade machine too

I'd love us to get Looney. Without smoking the ganja.
Re: We Are Approaching The Start Of Trade Season
The Sacramento Kings are trading center Dewayne Dedmon to the Atlanta Hawks for forward Jabari Parker and center Alex Len, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski.
Go figure. He left hawks and signed with the Kings as a FA and now he is heading back to the Hawks along with Capela.

I don't know if we will do anything or not. I do have reservations with jacking with the chemistry on this team. We have that and its a hard thing to get. (ask the Sixers) Another thing is I don't want to lose Romeo. I believe there are big things in store for him. He finishes around the rim now and his shot will get better. I also saw him take a charge. We can't give up on him this soon unless some team blows us out of the water with a offer.

Probably a good trade for both team. Russell cannot play off the ball which means that when Steph got back you cannot play them together.
Wiggins has never lived up to the hype. Playing alongside Klay and Steph may help him be a 3rd option. He never develops into an efficient scorer and his athleticism has been wasted on a guy that just does not play with intensity all the time.
Change of scenery may work.
