IT & His campaign to join Celtics Empty IT & His campaign to join Celtics

IT has gone to Twitter to try to push the Celtics into making a decision that just may be a mistake. I love the guy, he gave us all he had while he was here. But I really believe his joining the team at this point may be a mistake, and I think Danny Ainge knows that. He is on record as saying that “at this time” IT might not be a good fit for this team. I admit that having a shooter like him on the bench would be a luxury that I would love, but this team is NOT his team anymore. Kemba our point guard/shooter, they pay him a lot of money to win games for them. Just my opinion

There is no room for him although I would love for him to get back. We have 3 PG on the team already. So where do you play him? Who's minutes would he get?

Simply no viable way to play him.

Do you have a link? I just looked at IT's Twitter account, and I don't see any recent tweets about coming back to the Celtics. I know there was an interview with HoopsHype where he gave a classy answer to an interviewer's question about whether he'd return - something to the effect of "I hold no grudges, they have something great going on, and I would certainly consider it if they asked". Again, this just seems like a diplomatic answer to a question that was bound to come up rather than a campaign to get back on the celtics. But maybe I missed something...

Yeah, I saw that. I guess I read it a little differently, but knowing IT, you could be right - he loves the team, city, and the game, and probably would love to come back. I am a huge IT fan, but I don't see it either.

Me too, I feel so sorry for what has happened to him in his journey. He was on top of the world, and In one trip down the court, Karl Anthony Townes falls on him and that is here all his hip problems started. He pushed thru and gave the Celtics everything he could until he just could not go any further. It is sad, really sad. He is one of the good ones and he will never make the money he should have because of that one fall.

Says a lot about both the Celtics and the city of Boston.

I'm not sure if there's a spot that can be made for IT, but he's the kind of spark plug the bench could use.

Definitely a player made to fit the Celtics mold.

You know, after yesterday’s loss, I really believe he just might be someone they should think about. I have preached to the choir for three to four years now for a guy who would just come off the bench, hit some shots and go back to the bench. Would he be the right fit???? I am not one to judge that, but.......... I know I have said that I do not think it would work but......

Our bench has sucked lately. I.T could ad some instantly offense. Send one of the young boys to the G league or somewhere. In other words, I’d love to get him back here even if only for this season. :>)!

he'll give up as many points as he makes, has to be hidden on defense constantly and frankly is NOT the same level player he was here before.

sign him for a feel good story during this years playoff run...OK, I get that.

but sign him to help the team win...I doubt that happens.

Don't we need a catch-and-shoot guy (Eddie House) and not a ball stopper?

Can IT play off of the ball? If not, than no, he is not a good fit.

It would be a feel good story, though.

IT seems like a nice guy and he gave us his all when he was in Boston. Still, he has a Brinks truck-sized ego, at times, and I don't think he would be happy playing behind, say Romeo or Wanamaker. The chemistry this year is so good, I hope Danny passes. Got a feeling that if everyone's healthy, regardless of seed, the Cs can go all the way.
