Will There Be a 2020 Playoffs

I have to admit that this situation is most disconcerting.  We were supposed to be playing tonight on the Road and at the Bucks.  As the shock of this dissipates and  as demanded by a true, hardcore, unrelenting, never losing, Celtics fan, I am looking ahead for our next win.


  

IF this thing does have a 2-3 month time frame (like it seems to be in China), then you are pretty right one with that time frame of end of May of June.

My guess is that the season will be ended completely with no playoffs , but my HOPE is they can get back to playing a form of playoffs in June.

My idea would be a week mini camp first , then have ALL teams in a playoff based on seeding form the regular season.

so for the east, the Bucks would get a first round buy

first round games would be best 2 out of 3 games

Mia-Det
Ind-NY
Phil-Chic
Bkn-Char
Orl-Wash

Second round would be best of 5 games. after that as usual.

Games would be played with no fans likely, but it would bring excitement to EVERY NBA team and their fans.

and teams would not be penalized that may have made a push at the end of the regular season to get into the playoffs also.

I think it would be a win win and maybe something to help at least NBA fans gets their mind off what we just went though ( The economic part will last longer than the virus perhaps).

I don’t know...Adam Silver said last night that this shutdown will last at least one month and then a decision will be made. It really depends on how this thing spreads in the US. Health is more important than games, after being the first to make the decision to shut down, the NBA will not jump the gun just for money. The losses the owners will take cannot be the determination. Safety first

I still have a sliver of hope because the season has not been cancelled yet.
