how is everyone doing out there?

I think some here are in NY state, which is being hit hardest right now. I thought maybe a check-in thread was needed here.

Most of us are checking in with family and friends I assume also.

wife and I are in a rural area in south central PA here, only one case KNOWN in our rural county to date. I was closing my contracting business this year anyway and with no employees on the books anymore can stay out of the office mostly, wife has been working from home since last week.

Kids are in Boston, Ohio, Milwaukee and close to us as well, all are well so far. Most are working from home, except my son who is production manager at the local Pete and Gerry's eggs plant, and they are working 7 days a week now to keep product in stores.

we're stocked up for at least 5-6 weeks I figure here and really are only going out in public to the grocery stores to re-stock what we use up (while we can anyway).

I still hope that this thing runs similar to China and we see signs of slowing down by May.

What a great idea! A personal and productive thread is something I'm sure everyone could use!

I'm happy to hear you and your family are well.

We live in Western NY, outside of Rochester. We're not hit like the Metro NY area downstate, but cases are picking up daily. Like everywhere else, the less contact with the public, the better. Having a business in the financial sector makes that a challenge, but we do have the ability to work remotely and I'm attempting to man the office myself, with others coming in on an as needed basis.

School is online, but limited. My son fractured his wrist in his last basketball game, and has been in danger of missing his sophomore baseball season at school. He's now close to getting the OK to return to action, but, of course, we're not sure what will happen with the season. Same with our tournament baseball team; I can't even schedule a practice.

One of the things I find interesting is the number of people out walking every day. People around here generally keep fit, lots of walkers and runners, but nothing like now. Dogs are loving this; our dog is ready to go any time!

I hope you, and all of our board members are staying safe!

I live in San Mateo County, California.  Northern Silicon Valley.  We have been in lockdown since March 16th, days before the governor issued a state-wide lockdown order.  I am still well, hopefully I will stay that way.  Completely stir-crazy but physically fine.

Mr. And Mrs. Hooter Rooter are doing ok in the southern Atlanta metro area, the wife is working from home in a buisness that is considered essential but is downsizing daily. She has been told she is considered part of the essential team to keep the company operating through this and then the rebuilding process. Despite being told that she expects to be laid off soon.

I'm working on creating a couple new businesses but with the way things look, I dont expect much to happen there. So mostly we have been staying at home isolated for about a week already.

Our families we r more concerned about, most live in Ohio, her sister lost her job yesterday and her moms job will not survive the shelter in place regulations. At 63 and living pay check to pay check, she is scared.

My folks are in a worse spot, mom broke her hip 2 weeks ago and is not recovering well at the nursing home. Dad has lots of health issues including depression and will be all alone for next few weeks.

My wife's brother lives in asai and just spent 17 days in quarantine and is more worried about us in the states than they ever were, and they had had to evacuate China. He says that where he has been people seem to gave took this issue more seriously and accepted the mandate to stay inside, whereas in more free countries people scoff more at the idea from what he sees and hears on the news.

My wife and I expect things to get rough for a while and we are just doing our best to minimize our own risk and keep positive. As someone once said, "this too shallpass".

One positive, our house is getting cleaner and cleaner every day. And it was pretty clean to begin with.

We are here living a little outside of Boston. Right now? All is okay, stocked up and going nuts. Surgery was called off for me until MGH can reasonably say it will be safe for me to come in and have the heart surgery I need. Like sitting on a time bomb. I do little, so I don't have any issues, still have to go to the local hospital for blood checks weekly, talk about nerve wracking. My kids are on the phone 5 times a day checking on Bill and I, they are terrific. One working out of her house, the other out of work right now. So..here I sit nothing but time going by. I really have to be careful, cannot fight off infections so I am behaving.

This was a great idea, hope you all are well and stay that way. Pete, good to hear from you, miss seeing you on line here, you too Matty. Will we ever see this season finish????? Luckily I am here where I can see reruns of Celtic games at times. I wish they would rerun every Celtic win this season!! forget the losing games!

Janie has self-quarantined at home in Charlotte, NC since March 16. I left work (Hammond, IN) early to join her on March 17. I went to a store for groceries and filled some Rx on March 19. We've been self-quarantined at home ever since. We are fine, no symptoms yet.

For the very first time in my 40-year career, I had to leave work in the field because it was unsafe to be out and about. I was one of the last people to check out of my hotel last Tuesday. As I drove home in a fog, I came across an unbelievable sight, Windmills. Hundreds and hundreds of Windmills!! This goes on for miles:







I still have some at-home work left, so we'll survive for a bit. Living on Prime, Netflix and YoutubeTV.

We live in Lilburn Ga a city in Gwinnett county NE metro Atlanta area.

We are both retired but I do a bit of insurance business remotely.  We are well stocked up with food and supplies for about 30 days.

Mostly concerned about my son KJ because he is working and is in close proximity to a lot of people.  He still lives with us.  

I have an older sister in Boston and twin sons there as well.  Two daughters in Florida as well as another son and another daughter here in Gwinnett county.  Most are working from home during this crisis.

I am praying for all of them everyday.  I am praying for many family members and friends.  I am praying for each of you and your family and friends.  I know that we will get through this I just do not know how things will look once I come out the other end of the tunnel. I do see light there.

I'm here in middle Georgia (Macon) where we had our first reported case this past weekend. Wife is a special Ed teacher and has been working from home the last 2 weeks with a re-eval for a possible return April 6.  She found out today through a staff telecom that 2 other teachers in the district have tested positive. That pretty much clinches it a as far as school not returning this year. My job is considered "essential" so I am thankfully still working and as of yet no one at my employ has tested positive (fingers crossed). Son and brother in Atlanta area, both working from home. Sister on Long Island is an RN, obviously nervous but so far so good. Good health and safety to all.

Difficult time for me as I am over 60 and have an autoimmune disease. It is just the dog and me and we both are stir crazy already. I’m limited to how much i can do under normal conditions, and spend every Thursday night at the Sons of Italy with friends having dinner, playing cards, playing bocce or shuffleboard, smoking cigars, busting chops........they have closed. Saturday nights usually drumming for fun or for a gig and all that is canceled.

Thankfully I love to read, and recently signed up for Netflix so should be good for a while.....but obviously can’t wait to get back to normal isolation is not fun!

I have a ton of yard work to do so I am trying to be outside.  Everything is blooming down here in Georgia so the pollen count keeps increasing.


My annual pilgrimage to Boston may get delayed.  We planned on flying up on July 1st and staying a week or so but now I am hesitant to get on a plane.  One of our sons in Boston and his wife are expecting a child middle of June so my wife is anxious to see her new grandson.  


At this point we will just take a wait and see approach.

I am still diving. My buddy Jake and my son - both cleanliness freaks - and I went out last Saturday and may go out again tomorrow. Talk about social distancing, 20 miles offshore and three miles from the nearest boat.
