Board Zoom Meeting

In another thread, dboss had discussed the idea of having a Sam's board Zoom meeting. I talked with dboss earlier, and I think he has a great idea. We've always struggled to get board gatherings scheduled since our membership is so spread out. This might give us a great way to meet and talk in person. Please respond to the poll so we can get an idea of how many people might be interested.

I am interested in a zoom meeting in order to get some faces associated with the names and meet some of the fine folks on this board..

I don't know anything about college basketball, so I do not have anything to add in that regard.

My family had a zoom meeting for my Mom on Mother's Day. One of my sisters set it up. She provided an announcement and a link to the meeting a couple weeks in advance. That allowed me to click on the link, which then installed the free app. When the meeting started, I was ready to go.

I set up the zoom account and will migrate through the zoom for idiots tutorial.

FYI we will be able to have up to 100 participants for any meeting lasting up to 24 hours (yak, yak, yak)

NYCelt, gyso and myself will do a test run and then we can schedule the meeting.  Update to follow.

I sent dboss my email in a PM. He replied back that he wants to do the trial run this weekend. I am flexible and most likely can fit it in whenever you guys can.

FYI to participants

You can use zoom on a smart phone, laptop, desktop or tablet.  You do not need to dial in for audio.  I like using my laptop.  It has a camera.  I have also used a phone but I prefer a bigger screen.

This meeting is scheduled for 60 minutes but it is primarily to make sure everyone is comfortable using the platform then we need to schedule a full blown forum meeting.

Please do attend, if you want. No pressure. I don't follow college ball and feel my input will be less than zero.

I think it will still be interesting to hear about new players and to meet some of the people that help to make this board such a great place.

I plan to have a beverage and toast to everyone's health!!

So anyway, for the folks that may feel a little intimidated by the new technology, don't be. Before the meeting, just click on the link that will be provided. Follow the directions to load the free app on your device (laptop, computer, tablet, phone, whatever). The bigger the screen, the better. The screen may be shared by all participants (it is a choice, we'll show you where when it counts).

If you get the app loaded before the meeting, you will be ready to go when the meeting starts.
