My prayers are now with the Chinese people, because the massive flooding and possible failure of the Three Gorges dam may drown millions of people and render enough farmland underwater so that massive starvation may afflict 100 million. This is a very serious situation, and since 80% OF China's industrial capacity for making pharmaceuticals (for which we in the USA heavily depend) lies along the Yangtze corridor, China's flooding could directly affect America. Also, the mud left behind from the flooding provides fertile breeding ground for locusts, which are now swarming in Western China and are headed East. Lastly, the Chinese swine flu outbreak which they have been trying to control is now getting out of control. China, despite already killing off half of its pig population and depleting one of its main sources of protein (food prices there have gone up 12% in the past month because of shortages), has now lost control of that situation because flooding has created chaos in farming communities. If that swine flu spreads, watch out world. A tough time for China and the world atop of all that Covid-19 has brought us.

Worcester
This sounds catastrophic on top of all the other things that China is dealing with. I hope that the world lends a helping hand during this horrible crisis.

Thanks I decided to change my Avatar. My daughter-in-law's family is from China. She has a lot of family there so that just adds to the sense of urgency I have.

Agree completely. If this pandemic doesn't prove that we are all in the same global boat, nothing does.Once you provided the context, I saw Hawleys's point. I still think that if there is going to be social messaging on jersey's , they should choose their own. (maybe not J.R. Smith ) One thing this thread has done is make me hungry for some good Chinese foodworcester wrote:We are really all in this together. One world whether we like it or not.
