The Bucks have several really tall guys on that team. Whew.

This guy is a very good defender, and there can be very little debate.

But, I still like Marcus Smart as the best defender in the league for what he does every game.

I wonder what criteria are used by people who vote for DPOY? Number of rebounds and blocks? Height of the player (seems like if you're below 6-11 - fah-get-about-it). Or just an eye test?
I believe there is much, much more to a defense in basketball. How, for instance, can you measure desire to play defense and hustle?
Also, I doubt very much that all those voters selected, say, 10-15 players and watched how how each of those players played defense during the regular season (50-60-70-80 games).
My guess is those voters select a few players who are generally considered good defenders, verify that they have x number rebounds and blocks, are on winning teams and select the most popular player.
