The Boston Celtics have played 10 games of their 2020-21 NBA season, so we decided to take stock of who is doing what for the team now that we have a sample size big enough to tell us something about the state of the roster.
With the team owning seven wins and three losses — good enough for the third slot in a surprisingly competitive Eastern Conference — we have a solid idea of who the team will be leaning on in terms of a variety of statistical categories by now. There’s more than a few surprises in the early going however, so instead of a player-focused stats snapshot, let’s dive into what the entire team has been doing to rack up those wins despite being down several key players.

MY NOTE: It is absolutely astonishing that rookie Payton Pritchard is on any of these stat leader lists. Admittedly some of that is due to Kemba and JeT's injuries getting him a lot of minutes early (and hasn't been scouted yet?) but still, he has been very productive. A home run by Danny and Brad. Home. Run. We need to be cautious with stats like Tacko leading the team in blocks/game and Tremont Waters on the assists/game list, they just haven't played enough for us to know if that is truly representative. But look at Grant Williams on the 3pt fg% list! GWill has played in 8 out of 10 games and is taking 5.0 3pt fgas/game, in 19.1mpg. That's a decent amount of data, so far. He's taken 17 3pt fgas so far this season and took a grand total of 96 all of last year, so he's way ahead of last year's pace on attempts and, of course, on %.
