MY NOTE: A solid bench player and a champion in every sense of the word. Remember his 21 point game (in 15 minutes) against the Lakers in the 2008 Finals to bring us back for a record-setting rally? Well, he was an even better man than he was a player. As I remember his story: his mother was a drug addict and her children were taken away from her and put into different foster homes. Leon, being the eldest, organized a weekly Sunday get-together for all the children. He maintained "the family" aspect of being siblings when he was himself living in a foster home. While he was an NBA player he used his salary to help his siblings get through school. I am so happy Danny and Wyc and Pags gave him a career after his NBA playing days were sadly curtailed after only 5 seasons with bad knees. Leon was, and is, a class act. He's 37 years old today.
