POTENTIAL PLAYERS NOW OFF THE BOARD FOR CELTICS
NBA Rumors: Rockets Working Out Multi-Year Deal For Daniel Theis
NESN by Alexandra Francisco
Daniel Theis may have found his next home in the NBA.
The versatile big was part of a mid-season trade from the Boston Celtics to Chicago, where he continued to ball out with the Bulls and earn his payday.
The Houston Rockets reportedly are the team who will give it to him.
According to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko, the Rockets are working to complete a multi-year deal with Theis.
The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons also were rumored to show interest in Theis. If it works out with the Rockets, he’ll join fellow centers Christian Wood and new draft pick Alperen Sengun, but with all the draft capital they hold, it may not be over for Houston.

NBA Rumors: Kelly Olynyk Won’t Return To Celtics; Agrees To Join Pistons
Olynyk, 30, reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Detroit
NESN by Sean T. McGuire
If Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens actually was interested in bringing back Kelly Olynyk, well, it won’t be happening.
Olynyk reportedly agreed to a three-year deal worth $37 million to join the Detroit Pistons, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi reported Monday just 14 minutes after NBA free agency started.
The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach reported over the weekend the Celtics could pursue three former C’s players including Jeff Green, Avery Bradley and Olynyk.
Olynyk, 30, played his first four NBA seasons with the Celtics before joining the Miami Heat ahead of the 2017-18 season. Miami traded Olynyk to the Houston Rockets midway through the 2020-21 season.
Olynyk averaged a career-high 19 points in 27 games with the Rockets. He’s tallied 10.1 points on 48 percent from the floor and 37 percent from long range during his eight-year career.

NBA Rumors: Lonzo Ball, Potential Celtics Target, Agrees To Join Bulls
Ball reportedly is getting a four-year, $85 million deal in Chicago
NESN by Sean T. McGuire
Lonzo Ball has agreed to join the Chicago Bulls, according to reports from The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal reportedly is worth four years and $85 million.
Charania reported the Bulls are sending Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple and a second-round pick to New Orleans in exchange for the point guard.
The Boston Celtics were among teams rumored to be interested in Ball, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Ball, 23, has averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 assists in his four year career with the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 14.6 points on 41.4 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from long range, all of which were career highs, during the 2020-21 season in New Orleans.

Re: POTENTIAL PLAYERS NOW OFF THE BOARD FOR CELTICS
Olynyk and Ball would have be intriguing additions to the Celtic, but this is now moot. By not getting Kelly and trading Moses Brown this indicates that Stevens may be going after a Big out of Indiana Pacers or another team such as MN. Timber Wolves.
