Jaylen Brown quarantined with Covid 19

Report just issued that Jaylen has Covid. Not much other news with it, I am sure more to follow

Do we know if Jaylen was vaccinated or not? Hope he was and this is a breakthrough infection with no symptoms or lasting effects.

Brown was asked about his vaccination status at Celtics media day two weeks ago, but declined to give an answer.

“I think it’s a personal decision and have my own thoughts about it, but I respect my teammates’ decision,” Brown said on his and others’ decision to get or not get the vaccine. “I know everyone has an opinion on it, but it’s a personal choice.”

The good news is that Brown is asymptomatic and seems to be feeling fine. It appears he’ll just need to quarantine for the 10 days and then he’ll be good to go. The bad news is that he’ll miss the rest of the preseason and potentially the season opener depending on his conditioning. We’ll have to wait for more details as the team announces and as players speak to the media.

Not sure what to make of this statement. Worst case scenario is that it means he wasn't vaccinated. Best case scenario is that he was, but got a breakthrough infection. The latter makes sense since he is asymptomatic - the vaccine won't prevent infection but rather will accelerate the rate at which the body eliminates the virus. Even if it is the latter, it is a little disappointing that Brown takes the "personal choice" cop-out. For someone so willing to take a stand on other topics, I would have hoped Brown would have the sense and courage to come out as pro-vaccine. I will stop now - the mods are probably already not happy with this post.

We know there were 2 unvaccinated players on the Celtics.  Josh already came out.  We do not know who the other player is.  I have a strong feeling it was Jaylen.

Kind of funny if he is. He is involved in so much stuff, in and out of schools, mentoring, plus his other interests. I would think he would have to be required to be vaccinated. Also, i do not know if his Grandfather is still living with him, he had cancer and fought last winter to beat it.

Well, whatever it is, he will decide if he wants to share. I have a hard enough time worrying about my own medical stuff!!

I also read that Gordon Hayward was in quarantine too

He should be back by the 20th.  I expect Richardson to get infected too at some point.
