IMO (standard version) , the league will have to wait at least a couple seasons to change the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in order to address this issue.
What were the players thinking when they gave this fracking nut-job a position of power in the player's union?

Too many players are pompous douchebags, they don’t deserve guaranteed contracts, make it like the NFL.
Guys like Kyrie, Wiggins and John Wall are bad for the game and don’t deserve those contracts. Those guys got/stole enough money.

Just saw a rumor the Nets will NOT offer Kyrie a contract extension. He's in the 3rd year of his 4 year deal he signed with us.
This stuns me, if true. What it says to me is that not only is Kyrie not worth his baggage to the Nets, the Nets don't think any other team will think He's worth it either. That's why they're not willing to make the contract commitment to him. They're afraid they won't find any willing trade partners who will offer value for him so they'rereadyto let him walk for nothing. It's The Simmons Scenario.

Bob,
I saw that article.
Report: Nets won't offer Kyrie Irving $186M extension amid COVID-19 vaccine saga
https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nets-wont-offer-kyrie-irving-186-m-extension-amid-vaccine-saga-222726520.html
That's a lot of cash to lose for an ignorant reason.
I also saw one where the Nyets had no interest in a swap for Simmons, problem child for problem child.
Like jrleftfoot says, "I'm just glad that flat earther is no longer a Celtic."

Good. I'm glad front offices are starting to take a harder stance against these knucklehead players. Don't think you have to follow state laws? You don't work here anymore. Don't like the contract you signed? Too bad. No money for you. Letting the inmates run the asylum has been going on for too long.

Agree that the players that don’t take the jab should take a seat. But…
Careful about State laws. Ex: This clown of a governor in Texas issued an order that disallowed businesses, schools and consumer orgs from mandating masks and vaccines. Airlines and such are still mandating based on there transporting worldwide so basically they are continuing to mandate. Even though some Fed laws supersede I wouldn’t leave anything up to the states pro or anti.

Re: Nash might bring Kyrie off the bench due to anti-vax stance
. Kyrie wasn’t traded. He left in free agency. Either way, good riddance to bad rubbish.dbrown4 wrote:Couple more thoughts here.
1) Can you imagine this all happening while Kyrie was a Celtic?!!!! IMHBAO, Boston has always had a way of keeping things on an even keel throughout its history in spite of all the winning (and droughts as well). And it's always good to have things like this happening to other franchises, not ours. I don't think Boston would have handled something like this very well at all. Don't know why and can't prove it, just a feeling. They are usually very skillful at being out in front of things. All the time. Uncanny one might say.
That whole thought really blows my mind. Wouldn't he still be here if we hadn't traded him?! Holy Crap!! I honestly think something like this would have destroyed the Celtics organization.
2) Since Kyrie is looking like he wants to keep all his options on the table, can BKN waive him at this point? What would that entail? A buyout? Please clarify, gyso or others. Present valuing a $70 million contract just to sweep this all under the rug and not subject the rest of the league to the what ifs and the whims of Kyrie doesn't seem like that much a price to pay for the greedy Nets. Of course BKN in going to have to realize that the championship aspirations all over even before the 1st game of the season. Good luck with that. Greed is fickle bitch. I was personally wrapped up in its clutches in a former life and lost everything. Certainly not on this scale, but this will go under the category of the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Good point. I saw that Cuban basically told the governor to f-off yesterday and said he Mavs were requiring all employees to be vaccinated, with proof or a negative test required for fans.

Re: Nash might bring Kyrie off the bench due to anti-vax stance
Stan Van Gundy made a great point about Kyrie's misguided mission. Apparently Kyrie is emphasizing that he is "giving a voice to the voiceless", which sounds noble on the surface. Van Gundy pointed out the antivaxxers actually have an incredibly loud voice, including state governors and other extremely powerful politicians.

Kyrie is full of it. How many of those “voiceless” make 20 mil or more?
Jive Maryland Farmer (Thats a Pseudo for M..er).
Wasn’t Kyrie the same Kyrie that advocated not playing in the bubble? Now there’s a vaccine and he won’t take it. Dude is just hankering for attention.

'Fraid you're right, Ktron. And the NBA is giving him all the attention they can possibly can and then some since the Commish put the NBA Pension all-in at Vegas for a Lakers/Nets Final. OK, maybe he's not that desperate but something's amiss!!
