The Celtics’ parquet floor is iconic. But for the 2021-2022 season, it could be undergoing a makeover.

According to the NBA’s LockerVision website, the TD Garden floor will be revamped this season. LockerVision is a game-by-game guide for each team’s uniforms, and includes the floors for the home teams.

For the Celtics’ home games, the floor is shown as a much darker parquet, excepted for a lightened shamrock at mid-court. The mid-court logo is also changed, with a reduced color version of Lucky the Leprechaun. A logo celebrating the team and league’s 75th anniversary is inside the three point line on each side.

Under the baskets, there is what looks to be clouds or smoke in the low paint. The block ‘TD Garden’ behind the baselines is replaced with a cursive ‘Celtics wordmark. That TD Garden logo is now near midcourt, with Red Auerbach’s name moved to the near sideline, bracketing a list of the Celtics’ title years.

Will the new floor bring the Celtics the same luck as the old one? Only time will tell. It will debut Friday, Oct. 22 when the Celtics play their home opener against the Toronto Raptors.


In addition to the new floor, the Celtics will also have a new uniform which honors the 1946-1947 team. It’s a white jersey that features a more rounded font, with green stripes on the shoulders and sides of the shorts.

BRING BACK MY OLD FLOOR!!!! Have you seen some of the floors of opposing teams? Some trying to duplicate the parquet, but some absolutely UGLY. Along with those horrendous pink uni's on Miam
