The Boston Celtics have a pair of brand new representatives they have elected to represent the team in front of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) — the elected union body which represents players in all things labor-related in the NBA — according to a recent tweet by the NBPA.
The tea already has two team members serving as vice presidents of the NBPA’s executive council in Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams, and now has Payton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith serving as their NBPA player representative and alternate respectively. Well-represented in the player’s union, the duo of 2020 NBA draftees will act in the stead of all their teammates for all issues affecting Boston’s players and the league.
They were each voted into that position by their teammates, and along with the other 29 teams of the league’s player reps and alternates comprise the rank and file of that governing body.
No official statement has yet been released by the Celtics, but the team appears to be in good hands between Brown and Williams serving in an executive capacity and these two serving as the face of their team.

MY NOTE: This feels like the sophomore version of rookie hazing. They're past the "hey rook! Get me some ice cream!" point and are now into the "take care of our union business for us" phase.
