Should Marcus Smart Be In The Conversation For DPOY?

We are the #1, #2 at worst, defense in the league. With all due respect to The Time Lord, Smart is the heart and soul of our defensive identity.

If you can name someone who deserves DPOY more than Smart, how about First Team All-Defense?

Easy yes vote for Marcus. Only competition for him at guard is Jrue Holiday.. Both may make 1st team.

Robert Williams would vote for Marcus and Marcus would vote for Rob.

Rob should be in the conversation to make one of the NBA all defensive teams at center.

I have no idea what voters look at but I would think that positional criteria would have to be considered.

For a center, defensive rebounds, blocks shots, steals and personal fouls should be factored in along with the player's defensive rating.

How about Tatum or Brown also getting some all defensive team honors? Their ability to get up in air space on perimeter and cover multiple positions, did I ever mention we are hellish on opposing points,? should also be considered.

What wings are better defensively then them, maybe Siakim and Butler are in the conversation, but it’s real close, can’t think of many…???
