Pre-Game Warriors

Well, no regular season game spells more trouble coming off a tough loss to the Mavs than having to face the fully reloaded Warriors! As our road record indicates at a less than stellar 17-16, these next 4 games we should split. Not a good time for that. Gonna have to do better than that. Can live with 3-1. Kill for 4-0.

Our guys definitely need to get back on the winning path immediately. We're going to have to figure it out.

Games tonight and tomorrow that are of interest include:

3/15

BKN @ ORL 7:00PM
DET @ MIA 7:00PM

3/16

PHI @ CLE 7:00PM
DAL @ BKN 7:00PM
CHI @ UTAH 9:00PM
MIL @ SAC 10:00PM
LAL @ MIN 8:00PM - For those looking for a train wreck that is not at their own expense!

Lots of recording/fast forwarding!! Thank God for multi-channel recording capacities!! This morning I fast forwarded through with the 3 games that started after 10:00pm last night. PHI was already done.

Plain and simple, though. We just have to get back to good, defensive smothering basketball.

Well, I hope I'm wrong but I'm not expecting much tonight. GSW (-3) for the line. While close, I think they are giving us too much credit. Close enough to make it interesting but our J's are going to both have to come out hot and stay hot and make everyone of those around them much better. Defense will need to make Draymond look like a G-Leaguer. Good luck with that.

This is exactly what the sports media wants, a two-game losing streak to start the West Coast road trip for the Celtics to put us back in the sandbox and out of the real focus and the real teams that have a title shot, healthy or not, virus protocols or not. If your name is the Nets or PHI or Lakers, please have seat in the back. If we need you, don't call us, we'll call you. We're riding those horses until their untimely demise are through.

The Warrior have been playing very well and with Klay rounding into shape they may be the most dangerous team out West but they have a missing piece.

Wiggins may not play tonight. That is good news because he has developed into a allstar level wing player for them

Draymond Green is finally back and his addition takes everything up a notch or two.

Jordan Poole and rookie Jonathan Kuminga give them depth.

We should have an advantage in the middle over them but our bigs need to bring their A games to the table tonight. Not at all worried about Rob.

Tonight we will probably face a lineup of Looney, Curry, Thompson, Poole and either Green or Kumingas. As good as this team is they do not have a viable backup point guard. That is their missing piece.

Daniel Theis has not played much and when he has played he really does not look like a good fit. They play small ball so I think Grant will get minutes at the 5 when both Ron and Al are out of the game. I do hope Ime will rotate them in a way so that we have a center in the game most of the time.

We need White to play well because it will take more than one guy to chase steph around the court. Grant also needs to make his open looks. Let's see if PP continues to get extended minutes. Our bench really needs scoring punch from him.

If we played like with did vs the Mavs minus one or two bad possessions, we probably win this game.

I like your thinking, dboss. Unfortunately, I am at the end of the gift I wanted to be able to present to you and that is us going 27-3 to finish out the season. One more loss and I'm SOL. We can still do it AND give you a 10-game win streak but it has to start tonight!!

This is why they play the game!! Hoping you are right! Hoping Dallas can lend a helping hand tonight vs. Toolbags so we won't loook so bad losing to them a few days ago.

I love it! And my gift is still intact! 1-0! I don't know, dboss....! If they can win that game against that team (even though Curry would have netted more than the +22 final score or at least been close), we can beat anybody. Let's see how the sports media handles this one. (Of course, they went for the Smart/Curry play and tried to make Marcus defend himself. Draymond is a very intelligant player and person. Steve Kerr? He may have developed too big of a head. Sounds like a whiny baby. And as much as Draymond probably should have been thrown out of the game last night, he makes many great points in his analysis of the Smart/Curry play because he would have done the EXACT SAME THING. So he took the high road and let Kerr make himself look like an ass.) We have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt we belong at the adult table but will never be offered a seat.

I may have to reset my sights and give up the pessimistic fool me once mantra. These guys are for real, y'all.

There are still two huge gaps in front of us even though they are just 2 games difference in each gap from 4th to 2nd/3rd and then to 1st. These will be the 3rd and 4th of these gaps we've had to overcome to get to the top, I believe.

Glad BKN lost last night in the exact same fashion we did to DAL. Good riddance. That may lock them into the 7/8 play-in. TOR could and would beat them. CLE or CHI probably not. Clearly, I want all oxygen turned off on BKN with no chance of making anything.

Very interesting weekend (and by weekend I mean from Thursday to Monday) coming up as long as we keep winning. Tough games for PHI vs. TOR, DAL & MIA. That could possibly give us one game up or best case if they tank, 3rd place. This will be our best chance to move up on PHI. MIL has a cake walk with @ SAC and @ Timberwolves. (Is Boston still on KAT alert?!) then a big one vs. MIA.

Lots of good chances for those above us to either beat up on each other or go on an extended losing streaks. But Boston's message is very clear, just keep our heads down and keep winning. Period. Again, no time to lose if we want to move up and out of 4th place. CHI has too many tough games on the road to not stop the free-fall ala CLE. So, lock and load into 4th place and look ahead to 3rd/2nd.

Totally agree with your call on Toronto, their GM has continued to do such a great job, especially the way he built up the team after losing Kawhi. Drafting Scottie Barnes, acquiring Boucher and Achiuwa all great moves, they have so much versatile length and depth on that frontline. They pick/acquire the right players and develop them. They can wear teams out, I could see them beating the Nets, especially with the delusional part time player.
