Celts vs Nets, Round 1 Game 2 - Pregame Thoughts
Know this, Celtics fans will not back off. They simply will not relent in their vocal and at time obnoxious comments directed to KI. Celtics fans know that they are in his head and he knows they are in his head. The 50K fine is just symbolic. Once again he proved incapable of rising above the moment even though his performance was pretty spectacular. He was unprofessional and petty. He is a loser.
How the Celtics win game 2?
By doing the same things that they did in game one except better. Our game 2 victory will come from fewer turnovers and better defense. We need to get into them more by taking away their space. If you are going to foul, make it count. We need hard clean fouls. I think we could use a few kamikaze inspired fouls on them by Aaron. Knock somebody on their ass and all will be forgiven.
Derrick and Grant seemed a bit unsure of themselves. They can play much better. The Nets are going to have to bring a help defender to slow down Jayson, so those guys needs to be ready to catch and shoot when the ball swings over to them. They just need to hit a few and not turn in another 1-8 game from deep. If they can make a few open looks, it will open up our offense.
Kevin Durant had a very poor game 1. It was not just his 9-24 shooting. He barely made his presence felt on the glass and he turned the ball over 6 times. Some of those turnovers happened because the Celtics were swarming him and made him give it up. I expect that he will shoot a higher percentage. In that regards, the Celtics job is one of containment.
Daniel Theis has to give us more than a 1-6 game. He is going to get some open looks within the flow of the offense. He has to make some or the Nets will be playing a 5 on 4 defense.
The Celtics are going to win game 2. On the heels of Marcus being name The DPOY, we are going to witness a ferocious defensive effort. The fans are going to be freakin crazy tonight.

dboss,
Every time I read your pre-game stuff, among other posts, I want to go busting through a brick wall or something!! Love it!!
I agree with the win. With Marcus claiming the DPOY, a win by Brooklyn is just not in the cards. Sorry, Kryrie and KD. Please go off all you want. Both of you if you have to.
Tighten the noose.

Boston is going to have to step it up over last game to get the W.
If they can avoid the foul fest that will be a good start.
